If you know Southern Westchester NY then you know there is very little development vacant land around.  Check out 51 McKinley Ave. in Valhalla, its 19.88 acres and is subdividable to .25 Acre zoning.   Possibly 40-60 homes in the $1M price range!

Hartsdale is a wonderful little Hamlet in the town of Greenburgh, NY with a population of about 10,000.
The first house I ever sold was in Hartsdale, and I have always enjoyed the Hamlet.  The commute to Grand Central Station in NYC is about half an hour and the train station is on the Scarsdale border, so the trains in this moderately priced community are shared by Scarsdale residents.
The things that I love about Hartsdale are numerous.

Nicknamed The Golden Apple because of its proximity to NewYork City and its affluent communities, Westchester is the first northern suburb of New York City.
To give you an idea of how close; if you started at Times Square and drove directly north on Broadway for about 12 Miles you would be on Broadway in Yonkers, the first city over the Bronx Line.
