It's hard to believe it but the holidays are right around the corner.  Just yesterday my daughter and I were plotting out her schedule for the upcoming Thanksgiving and winter breaks from school.  Even though it's called a break, the schedule of events is filling fast!  As you begin to fill your November and December calendars with parties, shopping a cookie exchanges you might want to leave a little room for a few of the fun holiday themed events Downtown in December has scheduled downtown Oklahoma City.Here's a quick look ahead (you can visit downtownindecember.com for more information)

okc events: Flash Mob Sings Hallelujah in OKC - 12/11/10 09:14 AM
Today shoppers at Oklahoma City's Quail Springs Mall were in for a real holiday treat!  At precisely 12:30 in the food court, you could hear a whistle.  That whistle was a signal to many in the crowd to begin singing the beautiful classic Christmas hymn, Hallelujah.  It was intended to be a secret, but based on the large crowds most in attendance were there to see the performance.  Either way, it was an incredible experience.  I'm so glad that my daughter and I were there today!  I was able to shoot a video.  From my vantage point you cannot see all … (3 comments)

okc events: Holiday Lights at the OKC Chesapeake Campus - 12/06/10 01:38 AM
Once again the Chesapeake Energy campus in Oklahoma City has been transformed into a winter wonderland!  Trees throughout the campus and along both Western Avenue and NW 63rd have been meticulously wrapped in LED lights creating a feast for the eyes.
 You can drive through to see the lights if you like.  But the real treat is parking your car and taking a walk.  That's what we did this weekend.  I took these pictures with my phone.  So, they really don't do justice to the display.

Before you run to the Thanksgiving table on Thursday, how about a little exercise?  Whether you like to run, walk or wobble there are two Turkey Trots planned for Thanksgiving morning.

It is MS Awareness Week.  More than 400,000 Americans live with MS.I have a friend and colleague who's daughter has MS.  I have admired the strength and courage the entire family has had.  In their honor, today I registered for the 2010 MS Walk at the Oklahoma Zoo on May first.The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is dedicated to ending the devastating effects of MS.
