I just returned from a vacation to the East side of Baja California in Mexico. As there was no running water, plumbing options were creative. Here is the outdoor bathroom ! I’m not quite sure how to inspect this fixture.

These remodeling jobs are typically completed without appropriate permits or building jurisdiction (code) inspection. Among the common deficiencies are a lack of proper egress windows. Many of these emergency egress windows are too small, even by "older code" standards. The images below are of (2) different homes that had emergency egress windows that were marginally an acceptable size, however the primary power service line to the home was directly in front of the window.

Garage Slab Failure | Home Inspections Everett Bellevue Seattle The garage slab of this 40 +- year old home has cracked and settled approximately 6" towards the rear of the garage of this Everett, Bellevue, Seattle area house.
My assumption is that this garage slab failure is due to a combination of improper compaction at backfill and moisture entering the ground an running beneath the slab. The driveway slopes to the garage slab and the surface water disappears from there. Homes built in this era has no footing or full height foundation wall beneath the opening of the garage door. … (0 comments)
