While there are obviously fewer searches on Bing compared with Google, the pending deal between Microsoft and Yahoo regarding search should make Bing more relevant to search marketers in the near future.  Add to that fact that Microsoft has budgeted roughly $100,000,000 to promote Bing and it's starting to look like we should pay attention.
Below is a list of searches on Microsoft's Bing search engine that include the words "MLS" and "maps". As with Google, the occurance of MLS & Map in the same search phrase is on the rise. The list below is in rank order by number of … (0 comments)

The Internet is vast and full of possibilities and if we don't know how to ask for what we want, the Internet can prove to be time consuming and frustrating.  The biggest thing to keep in mind about the net is that almost every piece of information you need is on the net and available, you just have to know how to ask for it.  That said, what should a person looking for a home to buy type into Google in order to find the best selection of real estate and homes for sale in their area? The answer includes the … (0 comments)

mls: MLS Helps Shorten the Time it Takes To Find a Home. - 04/20/08 02:46 PM
Back in the old days the only way to find a home for sale was to drive around in your car until you found a “For Sale” sign, or call a Realtor and wait for them to call you with what they found for you.  Not the worst system in the world but it took a lot of time and the home shopper had little control over the process.
Today’s savvy Internet home shoppers have found a fast and easy way to shop for homes, it’s called the MLS or   The home buyer has complete control over what they see and … (0 comments)

Recently http://www.mlsmaps.com/ hooked up links to MLS IDX sites in the top 230 cities and metro areas in the U.S.  It took over 100 hours to find qualifying IDX sites in each of the 230 markets.  We were looking for easy, unencumbered access to local MLS listings, primarily with map based search if possible.  Currently MLS Maps has about 100 cities with access to a decent map based search IDX solution.  We have found that Wolfnets Maptracks is the best map based search on the Internet, after searching though the first 5 pages of search engine results in the top 230 cities.  … (1 comments)

mls: The “Google Effect” on the Real Estate Agent, (part 1) - 06/24/07 02:33 AM
Years ago life was very different for real estate agents, listing agents would put a sign in the yard, list the property in the MLS book!, take out a few print ads, talk to some of their peers and eventually your clients house would sell.  Buyers agent would interview a prospective home buyer to discover exactly what they were looking for in a home, pour over the available listings and information, mostly available to agents not consumers, pick 7-10 homes and make an appointment to take the prospect out to view these homes, ultimately ending in an offer if all went … (2 comments)

mls: What's The Big Stink About Real Estate Commissions? - 06/07/07 02:58 AM
It kills me to see real estate agents or anyone else for that matter getting beat up about their compensation plan. All this talk about the commission structure being antiquated and in need of revision is insulting. All this talk about how the Internet has changed the game and given the consumer more control over the process, hence agents should be charging less is intriguing but definitely requires closer review, rather than a quick flapping of the lips.To say that ALL agents are worth the full commission would be a lie, but it is also a lie to say that every … (4 comments)
