paul krugman: Fannie, Freddie and You...Oh, My! - 07/16/08 01:21 AM
It is looking more and more likely that the taxpayer will pick up the tab for the all-but-inevitable bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Is that a bad thing? And, just how much blame do these two institutional giants bear for the current crisis in the lending industry?
New York Times columnist Paul Krugman captures the essence of the debate in his July 14, 2008 column, Fannie, Freddie and You.

paul krugman: Home Not-So-Sweet Home - 06/22/08 11:54 PM
In a piece published in today's New York Times, columnist Paul Krugman--who writes about trade and finance--poses an intriguing question: Who says it's a good idea for everyone to own a home?
Krugman raises the point that home-ownership may have unexpected negative consequences that go beyond the financial risks involved.

Being that I'm in the business of selling homes, on the face of it--of COURSE I think everyone should own a home! But, reading Krugman's article gives me pause.
I'd love to know what you think!
