The Vessel, the Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards, at West Side Manhattan, were opened to the public on March 15, 2019. The 720,000 square foot retail tower have close to 100 stores including New York City's first Neiman Marcus Department Store.
Part art, part park, Vessel is a maze-like vertical structure that winds up 150 feet into the air.

After two days' craziness - crowd of thousands of people waiting to get in the first Daiso Japan opening in New York, it quieted down on the third day, at least not when I was there at 10:30 AM Sunday morning.
Everything $1.99 except labeled otherwise - Japanese snacks, candy, ramen, beauty products, kitchenware, utensils, toys, solar dancing toys, stuff toys, tools, gardening tools, stationery, stickers, cute erasers etc.
It is good that they opened in Flushing where I can just walk to there.

Grand Opening of Daiso Japan USA in Skyview Center, Flushing, NY was held on Mar 8, 2019, 10AM.
It is the first store opened in New York and in East Coast.
There was Taiko Performance, Goodie Bags for the first 100 customers, Raffle.
It is a discount store like Dollar Tree, except most of the items are $1.99 and may be more.

A fire started at about 6 p.m. on Thursday evening 1/31/2019 on the house at 148-40 60th Ave, Flushing, Queens, New York. FDNY battled the heavy smoke and fire for about an hour. A woman was found dead on the first floor of the house. Cause of fire was unknown and needed further investigation.

Blood moon - when a total lunar eclipse occurred that Earth's shadow casts a reddish glow on the moon
Wolf moon - first full moon of the year. I didn't see the "Super" part though, not sure if I missed or could not be seen in Flushing, NY

If you love flowers, this is a good places to visit in Long Island, even in winter.
The Main Greenhouse & Camellia Greenhouse are open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Grounds are open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except Christmas Day. Parking is $8 per car from Apr 1 to Labor Day & weekends from Sep 10 to Nov 18. It is free during winter Nov 19 to Mar 30.

The 80 years old man was trying to catch the bus, but fell and was critically injured his right leg. Accident happened around 3:30 p.m. 12/30/18 Sunday. The bus was heading North on Broadway, just before Mosholu Ave. Police blocked the road to investigate, only allow buses to pass through after the accident.
