manhattan: Columbus Day Parade 2019 NYC

75th Annual Columbus Day Parade was held on Monday, October 14, 2019, to celebrate the anniversary of Christopher Columbus's arrival in the Americas in 1492.
The parade kicked off around 11:30 AM with over 120 marching groups including many colorful floats, marching bands, marching up Fifth Avenue from 44th Street to 72nd Street, in Manhattan, New York City.
Columbus is an Italian explorer. Italian Pride was displayed as red, white and green took over Manhattan, attracted tens of thousands of people.

21st Annual Tartan Day Parade 2019 was held April 6, 2019 at 2 PM.
Pipers, drummers, pipe bands, dancers, clans and dogs were marched up 6th Avenue (Avenue of America) from West 45th Street to 55th Street in Midtwon, Westside Manhattan, New York City.
This year's Grand Marshal was Billy Connolly.
Before the Parade began, there were singers, pipes and drums performed on the Fountain Terrace at Bryant Park.
Almost 120 marching groups participated:

Vessel is a 16-story structure of connected staircases between the buildings of Hudson Yards, located in the 5-acre (2.0 ha) Hudson Yards Public Square. Designed by Thomas Heatherwick, Vessel has 154 flights, 2,500 steps, and 80 landings that stretch from its 50-foot-wide (15 m) base to its 150-foot-wide (46 m) apex with the total length of the stairs exceeding 1 mile (1.6 km). The structure also has ramps and elevators to make it compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.

I was going to the Lunar New Year Parade, so I took the chance to revisit and took a walk in the Downtown, Lower Manhattan, New York City.

New Year Firecracker Ceremony & Cultural Festival was held in Sara D. Roosevelt Park at Grand Street in Chinatown, NY.
To celebrate the Lunar New Year, there are Firecrackers Lighting, Chinese Dance, Singing, Lion Dance, Dragon Dance. There are also some free gifts.
