Phagwah Parade 2019 is the annual Holi Parade organized at the Richmond Hill, Queens, New York by Hindu Parades and Festivals Committee, Inc., under the direction of the federation of the Hindu Mandirs and The Arya Spiritual Committee. The Parade was on March 31, 2010. It is an important event of the Caribbean Hindu Community and is associated with the Holi Festival.

After two days' craziness - crowd of thousands of people waiting to get in the first Daiso Japan opening in New York, it quieted down on the third day, at least not when I was there at 10:30 AM Sunday morning.
Everything $1.99 except labeled otherwise - Japanese snacks, candy, ramen, beauty products, kitchenware, utensils, toys, solar dancing toys, stuff toys, tools, gardening tools, stationery, stickers, cute erasers etc.
It is good that they opened in Flushing where I can just walk to there.

It is the first store opened in New York and in East Coast.

It is a discount store like Dollar Tree, except most of the items are $1.99 and may be more.

To celebrate Chinese New Year 2019, Year of the Pig, Queens Botanical Garden had events of Lion Dance, Chinese New year Stories Telling, some Chinese plants for sale etc.
There is no admission during November to March.
There is not much to see in Winter, but it is a good place to take a walk, exercise.

A fire started at about 6 p.m. on Thursday evening 1/31/2019 on the house at 148-40 60th Ave, Flushing, Queens, New York. FDNY battled the heavy smoke and fire for about an hour. A woman was found dead on the first floor of the house. Cause of fire was unknown and needed further investigation.
