Here’s the latest report from the Knox County, Tennessee Register of Deeds real estate transactions.
There were 157 transactions during the past week; that’s about on par for the 150 average we’ve had for 2009.
And as usual the $100,000 to $150,000 price points dominate the number with almost twice as many as any other category.
Even though we have not seen the normal seasonal slowdown yet, I think it may be beginning in December.

January 2009 is now officially over. By about mid February we should have the sales figures for January. The reason for the delay is to allow everyone to get their closings turned in and closed out in our MLS.
But for now the Knox County Registrar of Deeds publishes a list of real estate transfers each week in the local newspaper; a very popular feature with most of my fellow Realtors.
Here's the past weeks figures in graph form.

For the week of July 25th the Knox County Register of Deed's office is reporting 229 recently closed real estate transactions.
The breakdown goes as follows:
More than $1,000,000 2 closed sales
$500,000 to $1,000,000 11
$300,000 to $500,000 13
$200,000 to $300,000 42
$150,000 to $200,000 44
$100,000 to $150,000 47
$50,000 to $100,000 36
Under $50,000 34
Total closed transactions 229

Each week our local newspapers prints a list of real estate closings (sales) from the previous week as recorded in the Knox County Registrar of Deeds.
Today I counted 309 residential and condo property transfers ranging in price from under $50,000 to 2 transfers over $1,000,000.
Here's the price breakdown
$1,000,000+ 2
$500,000 - $1,000,000 11
$300,000 - $500,000 33
$200,000 - $300,000 44
$150,000 - $200,000 64
$100,000 - $150,000 73
$50,000 - $100,000 50
Under $50,000 40
