Ocean City, MD: Winterfest of Lights Begins on Thursday! (Nov. 21,2013) It's that wonderful time of year here at the beach! The holiday festivals are officially kicking-off! Head over tp Northside Park(125th St. Bayside) this Thursday for the official lighting of the giant Christmas Tree! Festivities begin at dusk... 4:30ish. School choirs, mini-speeches and the switch gets flipped to light Ocean City's gigundous Christmas Tree.... just like Times Square! Every year Northside Park is transformed into a winter wonderland of lights with "moving" characters from storybooks, songs and Christmas traditions. Another Ocean City, Maryland Holiday Favorite! Every year, beginning the last weekend in November (actually Thanksgiving weekend!), Ocean City, Maryland has "Light Up Downtown"! During this time, the businesses and residents turn on their Christmas decorations and displays! And light up the town! (Although, truth be told, lots of us turn them on before the Official turn-on, because we just can't wait!) The exact dates are Nov. 29-Dec. 14 (weekends only). Besides seeing Holiday decorations, there are many activities to do, ie: singing, dancing, carriage rides, Santa,etc. The activities take place in Sunset Park, which is located on the south end of Philadelphia Ave. Bayside. Winterfest of Lights is OVER!!! Another successful Winterfest of Lights is completed in Ocean City, Maryland!
