Well the word I heard, is that Los Habaneros has signed up for the old Tres Hombres building and will be opening up their second location in Kona. As you already know there is a Los Habaneros in the Keauhou Shopping center and rumor was that they were going to move into the corner suite, push out the back walls and take advantage of the great ocean views from this corner unit. Kailua Kona Real Estate has a secret little area known as Kamani Trees. Dont laugh when I say this, but this little community has streetlights, sidewalks, underground utitlities, and trash pickup! If you have spent anytime looking for homes in Kona, you will know that there is no county trash pickup, and very few communities with sidewalks and street lights! Another good thing is its central location, above Alii Drive, Below the Highway, just off of Lako street - you are about 1,000 feet from the ocean.

While the rest of the state is in a drought, and under water restrictions - Kona just keeps the rain coming, it has been an unbelievable summer here in Kona, I have not turned on my sprinklers for months, and I can't keep up with the lawn, everywhere you look - grass grows 6 feet tall, trees are green, I can't even take my little path down to Banyans surf spot - the weeds are so TALL! Aloha From Kona, Home of the Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament, what a beautiful sunny day, I woke up this morning and made my coffee, I walked outside and watched all the boats racing for the best fishing grounds, a lot of them will stop by the buoy, about 2 miles out from house (see photo below) and pick up a few tuna to live bait with - Lucky we live Hawaii.

Today we are going to go over Condo sales for North Kona, which includes Kailua Kona, Hualalai, Keauhou, and Honalo. The Hawaii MLS groups them all together - so if you would like a more detailed report, just drop me an E-mail, or call me and I can break down your area better.
Okay Number of sales - July 2006= 27 & July 2007= 14 , That is a <48.15%> drop in sales. Thats a pretty significant number, especially if you look at, year to date 2006, = 261 & 2007 = 155 , thats a drop of <40.61>, so last months … (2 comments)

OK The July numbers are in - and it looks fairly good.
These figures are for the number of HOMES sold in North Kona, which include - Hualalai, Kailua Kona, Keauhou, Kainaliu, for the month of July 2007,
July 2006, compared to July 2007 - <9.09%> off from last year - Not bad !
Considering year to date figures show that home sales are off by <18.77%> , that shows a 50% increase over what year to date figures suggest. I went back and looked at previous years, I had to go back to 2001 before I came up with a similar number of … (0 comments)
