Aloha, Lance Owens (RS) here from LUVA Real Estate and wanted to bring you up to date on the Market. Is the Housing Market Back?, Why would I compare it to a used truck? Here in Kailua Kona we have a lot of secondary homes, secondary homes seem to trend the car market very closely. The same people that put off buying a new car, put off buying a second home. I fit the category pretty good, business is rising, things are good, we just bought some land and we are getting ready to build. Our 10 year old truck has seen (0 comments)

Hawaii Real Estate, specifically the Kailua Kona area of the Big Island, I will predict what the home sales and median price will have done for the year 2012. Looking into my Crystal Ball, I see a bright a future, very BRIGHT, so BRIGHT, you have wear shades! Predicting that the Median Home Price, again Kailua Kona area, will be up - approximately in the 7% range - remind you, this only a prediction, but I am feeling pretty good about it. I will even go one step further and Predict December 2012 increase over December 2011, to be in the (2 comments)
Kailua Kona Home Sales, Year To Date sales are up 10.69 percent. If you follow my blogs, you know how I preach about not reading to much into the monthly numbers (October up 33% - November down 3% - December tracking up 30%) and concentrate more on the larger picture - YTD numbers. Lets rewind a little bit, 2010 Home sales, were up 31% over 2009 - speaking of 2009, it was up 18% over 2008. 2008 - we don't even want to talk about 2008 - OK, I mentioned the year, so here it is - 2008 was DOWN <39%> (1 comments)
Updated March 20: Kailua-Kona will celebrate its relatively rapid recovery from the March 11 tsunami today with several significant events: the Kokua Kailua Village Stroll street fair from 1 to 6 p.m. on Ali'i Drive, accompanied by a free concert at Hulihe'e Palace, and the resumption of the Island Breeze Lu'au in the formal gardens at King Kamehameha's Kona Beach (3 comments)
