Lets start from the beginning. about 3 months ago I get this call, out of the blue, Hi my name is P**** From Impac Mortgage and we are here to ROB you, OK she didn't quite say it that way, but she informs me that my listing has become a short sale now, and that they are only going to pay a 5% commission. Hawaii MLS report show the the Kailua Kona, Keauhou area, Condominium Sales were up 80% from August 2009 sales. Good news is, were not following the national trend, which is great news for the local market. I'm still waiting for the catch on this client. Get a phone call the other day, guy wants to fire his agent and hire me. I of course have 2 questions for him - Why me, and why fire the other agent?

Kailua Kona real Estate sales have been on the increase for the most part, now over a year. I was surpised to see the land sales increasing over 500% though - and yes that is five hundred - not fifty!
Looking back at the numbers you have to go to the year 2006 to see this kind of activity, and the good news for buyers is the price is down 38% from last May.
