brian fisher: Charlotte - next American Girl Doll Store location! - 10/31/13 10:38 AM
It was actually before I was even a mother when I learned about American Girl Doll® and it’s “brand.”  My daughter is 3 and has turned very girly over the last year- wanting to be a princess, wear jewelry and have “pose offs” with strangers in Target like Barbie does in “Life in the Dreamhouse”, so I know it is only a matter of time before she becomes obsessed with these $100+ dolls with accessories like $12 footless tights (for the dolls)!
In the state of North Carolina, we are required to take 90 hours of post licensing classes and … (2 comments)

brian fisher: Running Around Town - 08/21/13 10:48 AM
Running has become a more popular group activity over the past few years.  With more and more walking/running-friendly communities in the Lake Norman area, runners are finding new routes.
Many neighborhoods offer connecting sidewalks, providing a safe area for exercise.  The Preserve at Robbins Park in Cornelius is very close to the McDowell Greenway – which connects Birkdale Village, Robbins Park, Stratford Forest and the Alexander Chase.  There are other walking/running-friendly communities within the Lake Norman area – Vermillion, Wynfield, River Run, McConnell, Morrison Plantation.
There are also many running groups and forums focusing on running around Lake Norman:

brian fisher: The Prickly Pear - Mooresville - 08/09/13 08:39 PM

The other day Brian and I met with our friend, Anika Jones, who sells new homes for True Homes in Rockridge Point in Mooresville.  She told us about the homes she is selling in Mooresville, which offer large lots with homes starting in the $300’s.  When she asked where we wanted to meet- without I doubt I cast my vote for The Prickly Pear in Mooresville.
The steak fajitas are perfect size and light for lunch…we sat inside because it was rather warm but we still were able to take advantage of some great waterviews from inside the restaurant.   The Prickly … (0 comments)

brian fisher: How Rising Interest Rates Can Impact Your Buying Power RIGHT NOW! - 08/08/13 07:31 AM

Here’s what we know about mortgage rates: Even though interest rates have risen in the past few weeks, they are still pretty low compared with a few years ago.  There are many things that impact the daily interest rates, and they do change daily.  The biggest impact is made by the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy, which is very complicated & a topic for another day!  See the bottom of this blog for a link to a recent article about the Fed’s monetary policy…
According to Freddie Mac, on July 11, 2013, the average interest rate on a 30-year, fixed-rate … (1 comments)
