The Sumter SC real estate market in September started to show signs of the typical slowing cycle in the fall and around the holidays. The weekly market reports are showing more homes sold than put under contract and this was evidenced by a sharp reduction in the number of homes that are under contract in September (143) from August (176). The Sumter, SC market has seen 65 homes sold in September 2013 and 52 homes put under contract. The solds are still outpacing the pendings (or under contract) homes so I expect to see fewer closing in October 2013. This is normal for the Sumter SC real estate market cycle. Numbers may be lower until after the holidays, but every year things change up slightly to keep us on our toes.

August 2013 was another great month for home sales in the Sumter, SC real estate market. While we did see a decrease from 92 homes sold in Sumter, SC in July 2013 to 91 homes sold in August 2013 this is still an increase of 23% over August 2012! Tuesday August 27, 2013 was another very interesting Agent Open House Day for the Sumter Board of Realtors. There was a total of 17 open houses and the group of Agent-Owners from AgentOwned Realty, Sumter was able to make it to 15. We were hustling in the 2 hours, but one had extended hours and we were able to make it to that house after the others had ended.
