snow: Colorado Spring Means Powder - 03/09/11 09:54 AM
The trees in the plains will be budding but up in the high-country of Colorado spring means powder.  That's white, fresh, fluffy deep powder, perfect for riding. 
My son, who I must say broke his leg the very first time he ever skiied (he was 5), never gave it up.  It might because all the nurses made a big deal over him, signing his caste and making him feel very important.  Or it might be because in the instant before the pain of the break hit, he felt the all encompasing excitment that only comes from speeding downhill.

snow: We mess with Mother Nature... - 10/08/06 03:13 PM
Colorado Ski areas aren't content to wait for nature to take it's course.  They are happy, because tonight the temperatures are dropping low enough to fire up the snow making machines.
The Kiwi Team in charge of making snow at Loveland said 24 hours of cold, they can blast enough snow to cover a run.
The snow making lady at A Basin said it's going to be a busy month.  Their goal is to be the first to open here in Colorado!
Personally, I prefer powder...fresh Colorado powder is the best. There's no other snow like it in the world...(except maybe utah.....sssshhhhhh!)
