Buyer uncertainty, seasonal slow down and the government shutdown have caused the sale of homes to slow, but we have not reached a screeching halt. These factors combined with an increase in inventory levels, as more sellers jumped on the bandwagon attempting to command top dollar for the sale of properties, reflects continuing momentum in Signal Hill home sales.

What is the big real estate story in Signal Hill? Well the Signal Hill Real Estate Report - August 2013 reveals very steady real estate activity. Average prices and number of transactions remained close to the previous month. However a few fantastic deals were closed by fortunate buyers. Prices varied ranging from $155,000 for a 1bedroom 1 bath, 800 square foot condo (fantastic buy!) to a $830,000 4 bedroom 3 bath, 3089 square foot bank-owned home with unbelievable ocean views.

Buyers are purchasing upscale homes and condominiums in Signal Hill. Single family homes and condominiums are selling while prices are increasing. Low inventory levels are fueling a price appreciation. However the recent interest rate increase may slow the aggressive buying. Which still cannot dampen the news shared by the California Association of Realtor Vice President - Leslie Appleton-Young " the sales of homes priced at $500,000 and greater are up more than 34% from last year."
