Recently, a homeowner in Central Florida whose house was for sale and in the foreclosure/short sale process, came to me with a question. "We are not getting any money out of this sale," he explained, "and we built this home from scratch. Why can't we rip everything out of the house and sell it, like in a big garage sale?" First I asked him to clarify what he meant by "everything".
