credit card use: THE IOU LIST - 11/23/09 12:48 AM
 
I came across this list the other day of countries, ranked according to their credit card balances, from lowest to highest and thought it was interesting.
 
1.  Netherlands   (Among the Dutch, 87% owe one week's salary or less.  Why so responsible?  They use debit cards almost exclusively ,and see no real need for credit cards!)
2.  Spain
3.  China
4.  Germany
5.  Brazil
6.  United States  (It's often reported that Americans owe an average of $8000 on their cards.  But, the high number comes from a few big spenders who owe huge sums.  The more typical US balance is … (24 comments)
