travel tips: Little Travel Tips! - 01/05/13 11:11 PM

Sometimes it really is the little things that matter. The next time you go to a hotel, make sure you raid the "mini" bar. Take the complimentary shampoo and conditioner whether you like them or not. Even if you don't use them on your hair, you can wash your lingerie with the shampoo and shave your legs with the conditioner. Plus, you can refill the bottles with your own products for the next vacation.

Also, if your toothbrush has just traveled inside a not entirely pristine plastic case, soak the bristles in the freebie mouthwash to freshen them … (15 comments)

travel tips: 4 Smart Travel Tips! - 11/23/12 09:34 PM
With so many folks traveling for the upcoming holidays, check out some of these smart traveling tips:

1.  Turn an old contact lens case into storage for stuff like eye cream and hair gel.
2.  Stash mini perfume samples in an empty Altoids tin to prevent spillage in your bag.
3.  If you are going to pack travel-size toothpaste, make sure it will last.  Throw a binder clip in your bag so you can squeeze out every last bit while saving space.
4.   To take the guesswork out of carry-on beauty, go to 3floz.com, where every product is TSA-compliant.  Several … (15 comments)

travel tips: Did you Know? By Kristin Johnston,Waukesha County Realtor,Remax,Buyer's Agent! - 02/16/11 02:04 AM

Next time you travel, keep in mind these great tips:

--When taking an early flight, bring a packet of instant oatmeal and a spoon.  Ask the attendant for hot water and you've got a healthy meal.

--String necklaces and bracelets through straws to keep them from tangling in your suitcase.

--Leave perfume bottles at home.  Soak cotton balls in your scent, then pack them in plastic bags.

--Your skin gets parched when flying.  Always moisturize on the plane.

travel tips: Tuesday Travel Tips! - 05/19/09 12:24 AM

Especially these days, every one is looking for ways to vacation for less.  Here are some helpful tips:

Lock in your airfare.  Kayak.com pulls information from airline websites and smaller databases to give you the best list of low fares.  It also flags red eye flights, long layovers, and short connection times.
Time it right.  At yapta.com, you can track the price of a flight before and after you book it and yapta.com will alert you (by email or Twitter), if the rate drops.
The best time to book a flight is 12:01 am Wed morning, in the time … (16 comments)

travel tips: Thursday Travel Tip - 03/26/09 01:41 AM

Here is another great travel tip that was emailed to me.  Even though most hotels are safe, it doesn't hurt to do the following for extra security and prevention of lost possessions.
If the hotel has an in room safe use it and keep all your valuables in there. However, if the safe is electronic, wipe the touch keys down before operating it with a damp cloth, and then dry it before entering your secret code. Try to do this every time you use the safe.
Also after you have keyed in your code and closed the door firmly … (16 comments)
