Every so often something really cool happens and next Tuesday, January 25th, it's going to be happening here in Conifer, Colorado! I Just learned that at 10AM next Tuesday the Colorado Army National Guard will be landing a big Chinook helicopter at the West Jefferson Elementary School in Aspen Park.This baby is one of the big double rotor machines so it should be pretty impressive. Backwash from the rotors should be substantial. Once landed, visitors will be allowed access to the helicopter to look around and ask questions. Shell gas stations are sponsoring a program that allows you to get 2 ski lift tickets for the price of one, buy one get one free, when you purchase 10 gallons of gasoline. This program runs from the beginning in January, 2011 through April 17, 2011 at participating stations. In Colorado the program is good at the following resorts: Copper Mountain Crested Butte Loveland Monarch Winter Park
I know of 2 stations that are participating: Olde's Shell in Evergreen at Hwy 74 & Bryant Dr. W. Colfax & I-70 in Golden.
