la quinta country club: Difficult Clients or Difficult Times - 11/17/09 09:49 AM
What can we do to make our transactions run more smoothly?  With difficult clients it may mean calling them everyday...I mean a call from us, our Broker, our TA, and our Escrow Officer.  Is this what it means to provide good service ?  Some deals breeze through without alot of friction or fuss- others bump along and take wide swings left right up down!  Is hand-holding the new norm... or is it just a sign of the times?  Are you noticing more buyers and sellers stressing out and needing more from us??

la quinta country club: La Quinta's NEW spot; The Wine Bar. - 11/17/09 09:06 AM

La Quinta's NEW spot; The Wine Bar.  I love Old Town La Quinta, but I noticed last season that there wasn't any music!  What??  There is now, and I am told there will be more this season.  The Wine Bar in Old Town is fabulous.  It is owned and run by a very intense fella, Justin, who closed up his wine bar in Palm Desert on El Paseo to focus entirely on his wine bar in Old Town, La Quinta.  It has paid off.  In the middle of August, I stopped in for a glass of wine and some apps … (0 comments)

la quinta country club: Is it true? Now is the time to buy and sell real estate? - 11/15/09 09:14 AM

Is it a good time to buy and sell real estate?
The perception is that REALTORs are always trying to convince their clients to buy or sell real estate each and any time. But the reality is that when the buyers or sellers are on the verge of making a decision, they are the people who make that decision based on the information they have, and how they process that information.
As such, it is always a good idea to stay abreast of the real estate market movement and factors that are affecting --- or  effecting --- that movement.

la quinta country club: Just thinking about Thanksgiving travel - 11/15/09 08:48 AM

My Broker, Lori shares her plans for Thanksgiving!  Kathy

I have been listening to agents talk about their Thanksgiving plans for a few days.  Some are staying local as they have deals almost ready to close and getting away is not an option.  One is flying to Illinois for 4 days and one is going to Arizona.  As for me i am fortunate that my parents are coming into La Quinta to spend the holiday with me.  So I was just thinking about how far are people willing to travel for Turkey?  What are your plans?  How far are … (5 comments)

la quinta country club: Making utility boxes beautiful in La Quinta, California - 11/07/09 05:03 AM

Everyone knows what an eyesore utility boxes are, but they are necessay as we all need electricity so we live with them.  The city of La Quinta has decided to hire an artist named Julie Kirk to turn these boxes into a masterpiece.  Each utility box is in the process of being painted with the theme of La Quinta in mind.  Mountain scenes, desert scenes, wildflowers and more.  I happened to pass one on my way to work today and wow do they look nice.  No longer an eyesore, but something to gaze upon as art.  Once again, I am … (3 comments)

la quinta country club: The ActiveRain Nature Channel: The Jumping Cholla - 11/07/09 04:58 AM

Although many cactus species have thorns, they really aren't any more thorny or dangerous than the mighty rose, and many cactus (and succulents) have flowers to match the rose while requiring far less maintenance and care.
There are two cactus species that I, and many others, do consider flat-out dangerous. One of them is the Jumping Cholla (Cylindropuntia fulgida).
I used to have one of these in my garden, a little one about a foot tall, but after accidentally stepping into it one day and not being able to walk for two years, I decided that it was even too … (3 comments)

Tonite I had a call from our Escrow Officer, Denise Dupont, Oasis Escrow-- she was working late, of course.  She had just spoken to one of my clients to help clear up some details on a deal.  I asked her what time he had called her--- and she said... I called him.  She had heard he had some questions on the paperwork-- and she took it upon herself to contact him to make sure everything was done to his satisfaction!  Escrow Officers are the unsung heroes of our business, and if you have a good one... let her/him know how much … (7 comments)

la quinta country club: Old Town La Quinta☼ Work there, live there, play there! - 11/03/09 03:30 PM
I live near Old Town La Quinta, and work in Old Town La Quinta, and love to shop, eat, drink and play there!  This part of the desert  is becoming a destination to rival the old Palm Springs, the foot traffic of El Paseo, the dining of the old restaurant row in Rancho Mirage--- Old Town La Quinta has charm and community.  Young people are finding it and making it a vibrant place--- and the locals are supporting it.  I love Old Town-- and the people we meet there.  From the Old Town Cellar to Devane's and Hog 's Breath...
