SOCAN [Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada] recently did a survey that tabulates which neighbourhoods in Canada has the most royalty-earning songwriters and composers per capita. By narrowing the statistics down to the postal code based on royalty cheque earnings mailed out to the 135,000 members nation wide, Toronto's Trinity Bellwoods/ Little Portugal, Parkdale/ Roncesvalles, Dufferin/ Dovercourt Village, and Christie Pits made it to the shortlist as the centre of music creation for songwriters and composers.
