Teri's Run and walk is dedicated to the memory of Teri Valocchi and all those battling Scleroderma.This year Teri’s Run will also raise funds for research as well as raise awareness of Chiari Malformation, Syringomyelia. Last weekend the first true labor step was taken to get this years event going......the transferring of the storage shed contents to the Church grounds. This Saturday (June 16th at 8 AM) is what has become the "Building Day" for the festival booths and set-up of all that the Church provides itself. While we are a bit challenged due to construction of our new Church, we are making due and there will be plenty for all ages. I see that Kim Woods entered a good post on the happenings to be for Downingtown's Good Neighbor Day, I wanted to comment on my day so far. The race started off early this morning with the Star Spangled Banner sung superbly once again by one of our dear friend, Nancy McFalls. If you have never heard Nancy sing, take the opportunity when it avails itself to you. Nancy, along with her husband Steve, are one of my biggest supporter's and I truly appreciate their support and friendship. You know when something just feels right......when the timing is just so that you can no longer resisit moving forward. About a month and a half ago I met up with a friend I have known now going on 10 years. We see one another at our kids baseball and soccer games when they were younger......at Church most Sunday's and at local events. I wanted to take a minute to wish much success to the new President of the Downingtown Area Chamber of Commerce, Jay Fischer. While Jay has held this post before, he takes over after my last two years as President, and now has continued to improve the Chamber's position in this great community. The Chamber has been an asset to the community for over 60 years now, and I see it taking a bigger place as our home town grows.
