There are horses are loose all over our streets! Beautiful works of art! I had a chance this past weekend to get out and take a few pictures of the Horse Mania 2010 horse art in downtown Lexington KY. Each one is amazing and there are so many fine details that are missed just by taking one full length pic. As I get a chance, I will be posting more. Spring Meet at Keeneland Race Track...Priceless! In Kentucky there is nothing like a nice warm Spring day at Keeneland Racetrack. The current Spring meet is April 4 - 25. Next meet is in October. I plan to spend my day there tomorrow with fellow AR member Connie King from Tenessee. She is coming up for a visit and to spend some time enjoying the weather. Last Thursday I got to re-visit Midway. It hadn't been in the plan earlier in the week but I received a voicemail from someone that was researching to do a real estate article on Midway. Barbaro's Brother in Kentucky - Future Triple Crown Winner Last year was heartbreaking as we saw the breakdown of Barbaro in the 2006 Preakness and followed his recovery. His injury had not broken the skin and Dr. Bramlege felt he might be saved. So we watched as this brave horse struggled to live for 8 months. Despite valiant efforts of his doctors, owners and fans he had to be put to sleep. Keeneland Race Track in Lexington is quite a legendary place and horse race aficionados will tell you that there is no place in the world like it. It is with out a doubt the most beautiful race track anywhere. A jewel-box showcase for owners to present their best horses to well heeled spectators and serious horse people.
