LEXINGTON, KY LBAR MLS Statistical Data for April
For April 2007, closed sales are down but reported pendings are up over April 2006.
The entire April report is not complete yet, but preliminary numbers show that there were 811 reported sales closed compared to 897 in April 2006.
Pendings are 1,091 in April 2007 compared to 1,029 in April 2006.
Year to date, sales are down 4% compared to 13% nationwide.
As of 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 9, there were 6,626 active residential properties on our MLS.

Back
a couple of winters ago,
I DESTROYED the concrete in my driveway!!
The surface became pitted and later flaked off from an application of salt I used only one time.
I hired someone to seal and save it...
that hasn't worked.
Also, I paid him in advance to cut some lines
in it so it wouldn't crack.
He took the money
and never came back to do the work.
(Old story ...but still a good one.
My Dad used to call those type of people "Jackleg")
So since then it has bugged me

Ahhhh...the home office has sure made working a whole lot easier. A nice sunny Kentucky day lured me outside to the deck overlooking the creek. It sure made listing 6 properties on two MLS systems a whole lot more enjoyable. Before the day was done each listing was on over 200 websites. Internet marketing at it's best!
While I am out here, I may as well get started on my newsletter. I send it out every Thursday to my clients. It will always have the latest listings and news about local events.

Barbaro's Brother in Kentucky - Future Triple Crown Winner
Last year was heartbreaking as we saw the breakdown of Barbaro in the 2006 Preakness and followed his recovery.
His injury had not broken the skin and Dr. Bramlege felt he might be saved. So we watched as this brave horse struggled to live for 8 months. Despite valiant efforts of his doctors, owners and fans he had to be put to sleep. For my friends that followed Barbaro and The Kentucky Derby I saw this clip today of Barbaro's brother.

While talking to a potential seller the other day I had a brainstorm. We are always wondering just what sets us apart from other agents.
What would be a deciding factor that a client might pick one agent from another?

Last Saturday, while I was out showing horse farms, I was in the middle of a beautiful plot of land out in Boatwright Estates in southern Madison County. This Sycamore tree is majestic and ancient. Just lean against one and feel the wisdom and peacefulness transfer to you! It made me wonder why developers move off all the beautiful trees when grading an area for a subdivision.

Normal Richmond, Kentucky day...showing some houses to my out of town clients. It's a nice family from Maryland and it's their first time here. I apologize about how cold it has become. Last week was in the 70's. They even ask me if it ever snows? Are there snakes?? Does it get humid in the summer?
By the third house it starts snowing...sideways...like a blinding snow storm!!! Can you believe it is REALLY coming down !

I read somewhere events that happen before you turn age 18 impact how you deal with your life in the future. I remember a conversation I had with my Dad long ago when were watching TV and the news guy said we were in a recession. We had no idea that we were supposed to be feeling different till we saw it on TV!
Now what do we do??
We laughed a long time over that one!
Now why would anyone know there was a name for some situation like a recession unless it was announced that you were in one? Our lives seem to change with an announcement of how we should be or what we are supposed to be experiencing.

Yesterday morning I had a chance to get out and have my coffee out in some of the prettiest scenery in Kentucky. My girlfriend called and invited me to go over near the Kentucky River on some property she owns. It is very close to Raven Run Wildlife Sanctuary...maybe a few miles.
The woods and creek there are drop dead gorgeous. I only had my camera phone with me, so I wasn't really prepared to take pics so early in the morning. I thought this one of the moss covered tree trunks on the ground looked like a wishbone. … (2 comments)

A long time ago (in the late 60's) my Grandmother Elizabeth was visiting our farm at White Hall in Richmond, Kentucky. What a beautiful place that was!
A beautiful old 2 story home with 2 staircases inside sitting in between numerous maple trees. We had two barns for horses on 33 acres also. We had just moved in but Dad wanted to plant our garden so we would have veggies all summer.
