According to the Municipality of Anchorage, new construction single family home permits that have been requested this year are down by 11% from this time last year. When new construction is not being introduced into the current market, inventory of sellable homes falls short..... in turn creating a sellers market. We already know the housing shortage crisis in Anchorage is upon us when we see rental rates higher than mortgage payments and multi offers of properties that would typically not fetch high-dollar.
