Delray Beach...A New Journey Begins

This will be my last Delray Beach Saturday post. Monday the moving van comes to finish packing and load the van. With any luck, Larry and I will be on the road Wednesday and in Houston on Thursday to begin the next phase of our journey.

We both have mixed emotions about the whole move. We still love living in Delray Beach, especially the weather and the beaches. And yet we feel the tug to move back to Houston to be closer to my family … (35 comments)

We ’ve been taking our morning walks at the beach and then after breakfast with our friend, Vic, it’s back to sorting and packing.

Delray Beach...Our Winter

Yes, we do have winters here in Delray Beach. It’s hard to believe especially when the temperature is 74 degrees now in Delray and it’s 32 degrees in NYC as I write this.

Delray Beach...A New Year

It has been a busy week for everyone and for the life of me, I can’t understand how each year gets shorter and shorter or goes faster and faster.

We have been away for Christmas so no beach time. We still had our morning walks but instead of palm trees, we saw pine trees.

Delray Beach...Christmas

The holiday that many wee ones eagerly wait is almost here. In Delray this week the beach was busy with visitors taking advantage of our wonderful weather.

Delray Beach...Pets

There are so many perks about walking along A1A and the beach in Delray, not the least of which are the many dogs and their owners we get to meet.

Pets are humanizing. They remind us we have an obligation and responsibility to preserve and nurture and care for all life. James Cromwell

While I wouldn’t be surprised to meet a cat on our walks, it’s the dogs and their owners we’ve come to know.  There are itsy-bitsy ones as well as ones that seem to be the ones walking their owners instead of the other way around.

Delray Beach...December Already??

Perhaps it’s a sign of getting older when December comes and you ask yourself...How can it be December already??

God gave us memory so that we might have roses in December. James M. Barrie

Delray must have known that it was finally time to exhibit some kind of winter weather because this week it was actually cooler! Yes, many of us actually donned windbreakers and wore long pants on our morning walks.

Wordless Wednesday...Sun Not Always Needed!

When we think of the beach, thoughts of the warm sun shining on us comes to mind. But, that’s not always the case!

Some of my favorite beach days are the ones when the sun is resting behind a cloudy grey sky. It’s a time to breathe. No particular thoughts come to mind. For me, it’s my Me time when the clouds are like an invisible cover just for me.
