Delray Beach...Memorial Weekend

If it’s Memorial Day Weekend then summer must be around the corner. This has been a week with on and off rain and unfortunately for anyone wanting to head to the beach for the holiday, well let’s just say that you’ll need umbrellas for the rain and not the sun.

Delray Beach...Once Again

For this Saturday’s post, I had planned to look for quotes about weddings since today is the Royal Wedding. However, there was another school shooting in Santa Fe, Texas, about 36 miles from my hometown of Houston.

Delray Beach...Thank You to Mothers and Those Who Are Like Mothers to Others.
Mother’s Day is probably one of the few days that absolutely should be celebrated, and not just on this one day.

There are some today who are missing their own mothers. Some who wish they could be there to honor them.

Delray Beach- It’s Time for Flowers!

This week I spoke to many friends who were excited to have garden weather again. They could not wait to head to their local nursery and start planting!

The earth laughs in flowers. Ralph Waldo Emerson

Living in Florida, you’re spoiled because you can work in your garden 12 months out of the year. To be truthful...no one wants to be out working in our garden in August in South Florida when it’s 90+ degrees out and it feels like 100 because of the humidity.

Someone told me today that we may be in for one more cool front but I’ll believe it when I see it. We are reaching daytime temps in the 80s and humidity has already set in.

Delray Beach...Resurrection, Freedom, and Toss in a Bunny for Good Measure

Some people measure time by holidays...for example, the last time you saw your family was at Christmas. Easter and Passover are kind of hard to pinpoint because they don’t always fall on the same calendar day. For that matter, neither does Thanksgiving.

If you live in South Florida, Easter and Passover tend to also mark the beginning of the great migration north by our snowbirds.

Delray Beach...Spring?

If you ask people in the north they might disagree if you said it was Spring. Winter has been hanging around as if it was reluctant to leave.

Those of us here in Florida are wondering if Spring may have gone on vacation and left the door open for summer. We’ve had temps in the high 80s. Thankfully, it cooled down later in the week.
