lake conroe homes: Rich Real Estate Agent, Poor Real Estate Agent, Nuts and Bolts of Real Estate... - 11/10/11 02:22 PM
If you read the recently published post by Active Rain you will realize the amount of information they gathered is totally invaluable to your business.
And, this applies to you. From the moment I began Real Estate, I have invested a great amount of money in Advertising and On-line Presence. Most of my On-line Presence is self generated but not all of it. With all the sites featuring Real Estate such as Homes.com, Zillow, Twitter, Craigslist, and of course Facebook, I have found that most of my business in dollars $$$'s have been generated from ActiveRain! ActiveRain is a site that … (22 comments)

lake conroe homes: If the House has Issues...Are you a lazy Realtor®? - 11/06/11 10:05 AM
If the house has issues, will there be anymore discussion? I truly think that depends on several things. If you are honestly out to find the right home for your Buyer then you have probably listened to their reactions about the house in the first place. Or, are you one that says, "well, you certainly do not want to deal with this!" Here's my "what if"...What if your Buyer loves the home with the absence of the issues? Let's say it has foundation issues. Did you just say, "oh well, we will find you another?" Or, did you question your Buyer? … (36 comments)

lake conroe homes: Home is where the heart is... - 11/03/11 02:46 PM
Home is where the heart is...As Professionals we have the drill down now don't we? We question, we qualify, we place, but are we actually doing the best for our clients? Are we finding out where their hearts are?
Couples, singles, families, all have their specifications of their perfect "living ideals".

Maybe you have a woman that works full time and her only relax time is in the den?

Maybe you have a full time home maker that spends 40% of her time in the kitchen or maybe her idea is to make … (11 comments)

lake conroe homes: Hallow-Thanks-Mas! - 10/30/11 03:54 PM
This one won't be coming up on Google you know. No such word. I first heard this from  Jason Crouch.  Yes, the famous, or is it the infamous Jason Crouch? He's off making bookoos of money for his family as we speak. We are all trying to do the same. What is it you ask? This word?  Halloween, Thanksgiving and of course, Christmas or Hanakkuh depending on your choice! They are all beginning to blend together. Help keep the "commercialism" from our Holidays!
WooHoo! We are in the season of celebrating.   The word "celebrating" almost brings to mind the … (23 comments)

lake conroe homes: Change...it's more than what you find in your pocket. Just Thinkin'... - 10/25/11 02:36 PM
It is a daily guarantee. Nothing we do, nothing we know, and no one we know will remain the same. Philosophy is one of deep thought, "educational concepts" that haunt each of us even if we never had formal education. Whether you realize it or not, it will haunt you.EXAMINE ALL POSSIBILITIESChange. What does it mean? As humans it means we have yet another mountain to climb. We have yet another problem to solve. We have yet another heart to heal and yet another dilemma to dissolve. We can do it. We were placed upon this earth to absorb, then rationalize and … (44 comments)

lake conroe homes: What is Trunk or Treat? Halloween on Lake Conroe! - 10/17/11 11:20 AM
That was my first question when I saw the new Inspiration Station post. Hummm...off I went to search for it! I absolutely love the idea! Being from a rural area my house was way back off the beaten path. Even I was afraid to go out in the dark on Halloween night! No one EVER came to my front door for candy.

I had to eat it all! Do you have a car or a truck? Then you have a trunk! This concept is based upon the candy going to the kids instead of the kids going to the … (35 comments)

lake conroe homes: Real Estate and the Question of Courtesy Listings...Get Over Your Phobia! - 10/16/11 03:53 PM
Thinking back a few years ago I remember the attitude of..."It's my listing...don't touch it!"  I had progressed into the new millennium like a comet hitting earth for an old fart like me. It all seems to me to be a normal understandable thing to do! Zillow, Realtor.com and so many others scrape our listings anyway. Why not allow a competitor to show your listing on their web sites?
Why not?Our standard rules are to show the listing company and simply place your name and contact information for the showings and "BUYER'S REPRESENTATIVE". We should all have the simple "DO … (18 comments)

Oh my, I just thought this would be a mountain that I couldn't climb. I remember my first 50,000 points that seemed like it was never going to happen. Dear Kodak,You have been a part of my life for many years now. I have photos of my children taken from your cameras and vacations and old photos of myself taken from one of your very old cameras with a huge flash! I still have it and it is now considered an antique just like me!  I love the fact that I am dealing with a company that is much older than I. Because of this very fact and your tried and true experience, you will have my respect and preferred business for all time. I would like to share a … (11 comments)

lake conroe homes: 30 Days to Create a Habit and 30 Days to Break a Habit... - 09/28/11 08:43 AM
Is what they say! Who are they? I don't know but I have to believe them I guess. I do know one thing. Our Active Rain 30 Day Localism Challenge has been phenomenal for me. If you have been participating in this challenge then you understand what I am talking about when I say "creating a habit". This wonderful challenge was hosted by Deborah Byron Leffler  and has truly opened my eyes to the benefits of Localism. In the past I have not been totally focused on Localism posts. I would do a few each month for the Search Engines and … (17 comments)

lake conroe homes: Localism Blog Titles, What is so important about them? - 09/22/11 12:20 PM
We have all been encouraged to write more Localism for the good of the community and the good for us as individuals! Our marketing is based a great deal about reaching out to the public that is looking for something we are offering. The question is, "how will they find us?" and "where will they find us?" Are the titles of our blogs important? You bet they are! Your title can pretty much guarantee whether you (your post) will or will not be found by google and other search engines. And even MORE IMPORTANTLY...whether it will be found by a potential Client. … (24 comments)

lake conroe homes: Grandest Opening I Know of is KROGER MARKETPLACE! - 09/09/11 01:19 PM

Thanks to my friends for stopping in to my "What Store Is This?" post and giving some guesses. I would never have guessed myself! When I first walked in it was like entering a city. Seriously! Along with their circulars with their specials they were handing out Maps! Maps are actually needed in this place.
The Kroger Marketplace is the centerpiece of the new Sam Houston Town Center at the northwest corner of I-45 and FM 1097. Other businesses setting up shop include Walgreens, Little Caesar’s, Whataburger, Chase Bank, Schlotzsky’s, Burger King, Sport Clips, America Hair Works, Willis Cleaners and … (10 comments)

lake conroe homes: How do you portray your personal view of Real Estate to the general public? - 09/02/11 11:44 AM
Let me preface this question with my belief system. I believe that we create our own realities to a certain degree. If we carry a "whoa is me" attitude what are we going to gain? We may, if lucky, gain a bit of sympathy or empathy. Is that what you want? Do you really want a person to feel sorry for you?
If you do then I have one thing to say, "poor, poor baby." Now, that is not the reaction I think we really want in the world of Real Estate. If you are like me, I want a … (25 comments)

lake conroe homes: Once You Publish, Google Has it Forever! - 08/31/11 12:20 PM
ActiveRain, I want to thank you for that. I received a comment from a post I did back in 2008 that was found and reviewed today. I saved a worms life. I helped to save a life today! Okay, a moth. I saved a life and I am tickled about it! I have to tell you this story!I wrote an ActiveRain post back in 2008 about a wonderful Huge Worm that crossed my porch. I didn't know what he was so I hustled over to google and checked him out. As it was, he was going to metamophisize into a beautiful … (15 comments)

lake conroe homes: Is Presentation Everything? - 08/29/11 03:06 PM
Well, no it's not but it does have a lot to do with getting you into a door. They say you have to open the door of opportunity if opportunity knocks.
Do you hear it knocking? If you do and you have not yet perfected your presentation in Real Estate, maybe now is the time to do it. How are you presenting yourself?
As a Listing Agent/Buyer's Agent? A Listing Agent only or a Buyer's Agent only? Those questions are up to you.
My question is: Are you presenting yourself properly and to the best of your ability? … (41 comments)
