just for fun: What happened on this date in history September 4? - 09/04/18 02:58 PM
Well, let's start with the trivial.  Google was incorporated 20 years ago today on September 4, 1998. And the fact that it hadn't been incorporated and wasn't well known or known at all is the very reason (Google meetups hadn't been invented yet)  I was in a Yahoo chat room that morning waiting for my web guru who was in Huntington Beach, CA to post some links for me to look at.  We met in a chat room to be able to talk in live time while I looked at my (almost live) site and chatted about the changes.  For those … (36 comments)

just for fun: It's going to be an amazing day! Today's word- amazing. - 03/16/16 02:45 PM

I am totally looking forward to telling you about my day. I will, but it will be at the end of all the wonderfulness that will happen today. Meanwhile I thought I'd share the angels that watch over me every day.  They live on top of my desk in my office.

just for fun: Tammy's 2015 Top Ten - 12/31/15 12:15 PM
This list is not ranked, but all moments that were fabulous in 2015:
Watching my daughter graduate. She was back in school again 10 minutes later working on her dream. She's a "never give up" girl.  I'm a proud mom. Celebrating 20 years as the owner of Lane Realty. Where did the time go? Was it really 1995? A wonderful two week road trip with lots of firsts. I drove into the Rockies after dark and woke up early and went outside to see the sun coming up over the snow capped mountains in 12 degree weather. It was magnificent.  Thanksgiving with … (28 comments)

just for fun: Look what I found today - 06/13/15 11:11 AM
I had a busy day both with work and person stuff. I left work a tad bit early and headed to my church where I helped feed 75 youth from a visiting choir. At the end of the day we overbought food just a bit.  So I packed up some left overs to drop at my office for agents to much on this coming week.
When I stopped to leave the food in the refrigerator I noticed how the plants on the porch needed to be watered. (ever notice how one thing you think of that needs to be done leads to … (29 comments)

just for fun: A wonderful date night - 01/31/15 12:24 PM
This week was crazy busy.  There was a wonderful visit from Thom Abbott on Monday and it feels like it was a month ago.  My agents showed a LOT of property this week and we are awaitig fully exectuted contracts on two different deals.  We have a closing on Tuesday and we got three new listings this week.
There was one night I was at the office until after 10 p.m.  I never got everything done I needed to get done and it was some added stress that I was getting out quarterly tax reports and 1099s this week too.  Yes, I do … (25 comments)

just for fun: Oh my I want a piece of Pie- my serendipitous Sunday - 01/25/15 10:52 AM
Last week I was buying what I needed to make Spinach pie and Donald was in the supermarket with me and asked "WHAT KIND OF PIE?" and when I said Spinach his smile turned upside down.  So I asked him what kind of pie he would like to have and his reply was "butterscotch".  So right in the store he pulled out his phone and found a recipe and we gathered the ingredients. Yay for smart phones.  We actually started to make it last week, but then Donald got his email assignment for the next day for work and had to … (22 comments)

just for fun: TBT- a warm day at the beach - 11/20/14 06:08 AM

I would love to have a warm day at the beach right about now.  It's been a long time since I had a day at the beach.  I am way overdue a beach vacation.  Earlier this year we planned one, but it was rained out and we went to Nashville instead and had a great time, but I'm still longing for the beach.

just for fun: Serendipity Sunday- in the Christmas aisle - 11/02/14 12:19 PM
I keep walking up and down those Christmas aisles at the store and I keep not putting anything into my cart.  So today I made a plan...  Every time I go to a store through the season I'm going to make myself choose one.
Today I did that.  I had a lot of Santa ornaments that went on the trees past that I lost in the fire.  So today I picked a new Santa. He's not like a Santa I had before and well, I guess I have finally accepted that old Christmas is gone, but that doesn't mean I can't like new … (11 comments)

just for fun: I'm a night owl, but the time change always messes up my month - 11/01/14 12:52 PM
It doesn't matter if it's the spring forward or the fall back, when the clocks move I feel tired for weeks.  Part of it is my puppies don't use clocks. So they wake up at the time they are used to waking up and go to sleep at the times they are used to going to sleep.  My old body feels much the same way.
So in about an hour I'm going to change my clocks and head to bed, but chances are the puppies will wake up at 6, because they will have no idea it's not 7 a.m. which is … (18 comments)

just for fun: Headed where no man has ever gone before.... - 10/22/14 08:31 AM
Okay I admit it I'm a trekie.  I've always loved science fiction and am very happy that Donald shares my love of it.  We enjoy many of the same movies.  While I tolerate his historical war movies and he tolerates my sappy love stories we both truly enjoy a good science fiction flick.
Donald would fly to moon in a minute if given the chance.  Me? eh?  not so sure, but I'm about to send Donald and go with him to mars.... you can go too.

Well actually only your name can go, same for Donald and I, but … (34 comments)

just for fun: Gratitude, Day 4 - 08/29/14 01:15 PM
It was a typical southern hot and humid day at Lake Sinclair today.  Perhaps that will explain my choices today.
Tire Tubes.  When I was a girl and my parents started taking me to the lake we didn't have floats from the store to blow up and float in the water and we didn't have "noodles" made from Styrofoam.  We had big old tire tubes.  I guess they came from the tires of tractors and old trucks and cars.  But they would still have big long metal (be careful not to scratch or stab yourself with it) valve stems.  They would … (9 comments)

just for fun: Things I miss.... - 07/15/14 07:11 AM
I'm tired and I've been in a funky mood lately.  My desk is a disaster and I'm going to spend tomorrow (because I'm finally caught up) cleaning my desk to see if that will shake my blahs and get me back to my usual perky self.  it's utterly depressing to be hired, do a bunch of work and then be fired in a two day period and that just happened to me on a listing.  Oh well their loss, not mine.
I just saw a Facebook post with an old rotary dial phone and it made me think about things I miss...
Slamming the … (15 comments)

just for fun: Need the afternoon off? I know a cool place to hide your smart phone - 12/15/13 11:09 AM
Friday afternoon I left work around 2 p.m.  Donald and I were going to a Christmas party Friday night and I needed to cook.  I was making several dishes for a pot luck dinner party.  So I came home and got going peeling sweet potatoes, making meatballs, rolling pigs in blankets and even made a pineapple casserole. (Thank you Paula Deen, that was delicious!)  When we started packing the car I couldn't find my phone.  My first thought was that I left it at the office so we stopped by there, but no phone.
I couldn't be late, so we headed … (16 comments)

just for fun: I'll get around to that, but right now I feel like talking about this... - 12/05/12 01:08 PM
I really am going to write a post about the great time I had at the ATL AR meet up yesterday, I promise, I'll get around to it.  But today I feel like talking about my Donald.  And I just have to tell you what Lynn Friedman said to me.
I've had people read my posts and email me with "pfft, you made that up, no husband is that good".  I generally choose to ignore those emails.  Lynn on the other hand said to when I brought my Donald along to the AR meetup because it was two hours from home … (18 comments)
