things to do in lancaster: Lancaster City Spring Art Walk - 04/18/09 08:24 AM
Today the girls and I went downtown to the Lancaster Spring Art Walk. There were several venues with free kids crafts. We had a great time walking around in the beautiful weather and making crafts including a drum, a dreamcatcher, and paper quilt.
We also stopped for lunch at "Rice and Beans", a new restaurant that opened on Queen Street. We got the Cuban sandwich and the stewed chicken with yellow rice, and beans. They were each $5.50 and very tasty.
The Art Walk continues tomorrow so if you have time, go! It's a great time of year to walk around … (2 comments)

things to do in lancaster: Leisure Lanes Of Lancaster - 01/29/09 06:29 AM
Last weekend we took our daughter's bowling to celebrate my oldest turning 6.  We had fun watching them attempt to throw that big ball and their reactions to knocking down the pins. It's a fun and inexpensive activity that is great to get you out of the house in the winter! Bowling was around $3.75 per person per game and shoe rental was $2.00 a pair.
Everything is automated so you don't have to worry about keeping score. The bumpers can even go up and down depending on which player is up.
Leisure Lanes is located at 3440 Columbia Ave in … (3 comments)

things to do in lancaster: Muffin Street - Lancaster City, PA - 12/20/08 01:37 AM
While we were painting pottery at The Pottery Works yesterday, my daughter and I wanted a snack.  We went next door to Muffin Street, (18 West Orange St).  We each picked a delicious home made muffin; I got pineapple coconut and she got blueberry.

I spoke with the new owner of Muffin Street, Eric Morales.  He took over the quaint shop about 5 months ago. It's cozy inside with plenty of tables and chairs, and two picture windows overlooking Orange St.  A great place to sit and have coffee with a friend or take a lunch break during your downtown … (1 comments)

things to do in lancaster: Things to do in Lancaster, PA - Park City Center - 12/03/08 02:40 AM
Park City is the local mall conveniently located off of Route 30 and Harrisburg Pike.  It is a great place to take the kids on a rainy day and play in the play area in the lower level food court.  Kids can run around and climb over the obstacles and parents can drink coffee, use the free wi-fi, or just sit and watch.

JC Penny, Sears, Bon-Ton, Boscov's, and Kohls are all in this mall making it a great place to do your holiday shopping. Santa has taken up residence on the main level in the middle of the mall.
