Luckily I have wi-fi, and can get online from the garage. If given a choice, that is where I am. Between MLS searches, arranging marketing, and pre-viewing homes, I will try to get in a little welder time, or at least clean some of the tools from the last wrenching session.

While glancing through today's REALTOR(R) Magazine Daily News Brief, there were two stories that jumped out at me.  One was a call to action, and the other looked like the groundwork for a call to action later... The first was:  Withholding Mortgage Help Could Hurt Everybody.  Among other things,...

A friend of mine forwarded a Moody's study that was called "Aftershock - A study of the post Mortgage Meltdown."  I went through it, and most of it is pretty dark... but then I started to notice something.  The maps didn't look that bad.  Ok, they didn't look that bad for the Southeast in general...

Yep.  In (what I hope to to be) the last incarnation of my website for a while, I will be making it an online magazine.  I am building the February issue, which will be the debut on the site right now.  Each day it changes just a little, but come the 1st of February, I'll be able to leave it alon...

Ok, I'm teasing a little..  The poll is on my website.  I am trying to look at expired listings and see what went wrong, from the perspective of the seller.  I have struggled with whether I should post the link directly to the poll, but have decided that I should.  I was going to just give out th...

Through a search a few weeks ago I ran across Real Estate Radio's blog.  I have been enjoying the read for quite a while, and even listening to some of the podcasts (they are full radio show recordings, and are two hours long).  I don't listen to as much of the podcasts as I'd like, because of th...

When I logged on to the computer this morning, I ran across this story from Yahoo News.  It is from the AP, and basically says that in 2007, new home construction dropped 24.8% from 2006 levels.  That is the highest drop since 1980... when interest rates on mortgages were worse than credit cards ...

We Rock Chicago - Curb Cut Media - Chicago, IL 60646 Here is a better real estate video. It is well worth the time to take a look. Whether we like it or not, this is the wave of the future. While over at Real Estate Radio yesterday, I ran across this story about property videos.   They highlighte...

Woohoo!! I'm caught up. I can make these weekly until I cut this platform off.BTW, the reason for the discrepancy in numbers is vebcause a number is assigned when I write a draft that isn't published. I will be altering this next week to just have the dates, rather than the post number and date. ...

Just about caught up enough to make these weekly. I wanted to get this one knocked out previously, but just didn't have the time. I'll be trying to update these each Sunday or Monday going forward until the traffic here drops off. Obviously, you can skip straight to the source by visiting LaneBai...

Probably the biggest story in real estate for 2007 has been the meltdown of the "Sub-Prime Mortgage" market. Big players went out of business, and the implosion touched (like a Three Stooges Smackdown) every part of the real estate market. Everybody put your heads on the desk is about one of the ...
