I knew someone who dropped out of engineering school to become a golf instructor on a cruise ship. I think his parents thought he was insane, but there wasn't much they could do about it at the time. When I think about him, I wonder who is more insane, the engineering student or the golf instructor. He gave lessons for a long time, but I think he eventually went back to engineering and got a degree, so he must have come to his senses eventually.
