luxury real estate website design: Luxury Real Estate Marketing Tip: “Pizza with a Purpose!”
- 08/14/14 01:57 AM
One of the aspects of marketing is making yourself well known and well thought of in your community. Here is an example that we feel could be applied to the real estate industry. We received a postcard titled “Pizza with a Purpose” which caught our attention (.03 seconds). The Animal Shelter Association Program sent it to us. The “FUNdraiser" is a co-marketing effort with California Pizza Kitchen. On Tuesday,August 19th between the hours of 11:00am-10:00pm, 20% of the check will be donated to the Animal Shelter Association Program. Every savvy real estate marketing professional has a sphere of

luxury real estate website design: Luxury Real Estate Branding: The Power of Color in .03 Seconds!
- 08/12/14 03:51 AM
When you are refining your luxury real estate branding and marketing package, it is important to focus on the power of color. The response to color is often subliminal. The eyes see color in .03 seconds equivalent to the blinking of an eyelash. In that brief moment, colors have to convey the message of the brand which helps create interest and eventually the sale. This makes it worth the time for a second look. Yesterday, we were cruising the aisles of luxury stores and looking at different products, and their packaging for inspiration. We apply the .03 seconds principle

luxury real estate website design: Wordless Wednesday:The Bromeliad Garden in Lotusland Santa Barbara
- 07/30/14 12:29 AM
It has been two weeks exactly since our two hour tour at Lotusland. The bromeliad garden was another amazing stop on our tour. Pineapples are part of the bromeliad family. Bromeliads can grow in soil, on rocks and others without any soil They live on air, which has enough water and nutrients for their survival. luxury real estate website design: 3 Ways to Sharpen Your Strategic Thinking Part 1: Or Sex on the Beach!
- 07/29/14 04:59 AM
If you are going to respond pro-actively to the ever-changing world we live in, it is important that you sharpen your strategic thinking. This will help you to outthink your competition. Take time to reexamine your opinions. Challenge your own premises, and be open enough to admit you may be wrong. For instance, many real estate marketing professionals are quick to tell you that print advertising is a colossal waste of money. In our research and experience we have found that in some luxury markets, print ads are a strong source of leads for many brokers and agents.

luxury real estate website design: Luxury Real Estate Marketing: Marketing Is a Two-Way Conversation
- 07/22/14 03:04 AM
There is distinct difference between marketing and selling. Marketing is a two-way conversation about understanding and satisfying needs. Selling is attempting to convince someone to buy something they may not need or be ready for. Just yesterday we received an email from one of our clients whose website we are completing. She asked if in her sold portfolio of homes, she should have the sales price or the listing price as part of the description. The same question comes up for “Just Sold Postcards,” and newspaper advertising. Our advice is to publish the listing price! Publishing what the home

luxury real estate website design: Speechless Sunday: Gone Fishing!
- 07/20/14 02:16 PM
It was a relatively quiet beach this morning. With cloudy skies many opted out. The lifeguards were going through life saving drills on their surfboards and a few paddle board enthusiasts were enjoying the calm waters in the distance. This young man caught our eye. His green outfit lit up the scene. He was by himself casting his pole and patiently waiting, for a halibut or sea bass perhaps. They are running in our waters this time of the year. Wishing everyone a great week ahead, Cheers, R & A Written by Ron & Alexandra Seigel- ABOUT: Napa Consultants,

luxury real estate website design: Luxury Real Estate Trends: The Warm & Fuzzy Side of Luxury
- 07/08/14 01:55 AM
As we continue to review the trends discussed in the luxury arena, we are noticing that the same theme is repeated over and over again: take the best care of your customers! This is definitely what defines success today. It is the warm and fuzzy side of luxury that applies to all industries that involve human interaction. In an address at the Welcome Conference for the hospitality industry, the Canils brothers (Seattle Restaurant owners) explained their views on what hospitality means, “It isn’t about transactions, it’s about relationships!” Gabriel Stulman owns six restaurants in Manhattan, “where the wait staff including

luxury real estate website design: Wordless Wednesday: Bromeliad tree!
- 07/02/14 03:15 AM
On our last visit to Island View Nursery, we spotted this interesting arrangement of bromeliads in a tree. In the jungle they do perch themselves in trees as they are air plants and get their moisture from the air. Wishing you all a great Wednesday! luxury real estate website design: Wordless Wednesday: A Different Beauty
- 06/04/14 12:17 AM
These lovely artichoke flowers are a different beauty. When you leave the artichoke bud on the plant, it turns into this beautiful flower. California grows provides nearly 100% of the artichoke crop in the US, and most of it is grown in Monterey County. Castroville, California refers to itself as "The Artichoke Center of the World." It is easy to understand that that the Castroville Artichoke Festival in May would follow to honor this $50 million crop. luxury real estate website design: Friday Fun: Ranunculus Riot or Little Frogs?
- 05/30/14 03:05 AM
These lovely flowers brighten spring and early summer gardens in Santa Barbara County. They are so colorful and cheery. The Latin name for them is Ranuculus, and it means little frogs. Legend has it that they were originally found growing near water like frogs. We are busy catching up and recouping from what was a very long trip with delays and nearly missing our connecting flight to LAX. It always good to be home again. This trio greated us as we entered the basement level of Nordstrom's in Santa Barbara from the parking garage. I just had to take a photo, I have no idea what was being communicated! At the very least, it was an example of a bad hair day, or a pop of color...LOL What do you think? luxury real estate website design: Eight Headshot Do’s and Don’ts: The Eyes are the Windows of the Soul
- 05/19/14 04:18 AM
Here is what we have gleaned from sitting in on numerous photo shoots with some of the top portrait professionals, and what you can observe from looking at movie posters when the stars are featured as part of the advertising. The eyes are the “windows of the soul”. Notice that Angelina Jolie’s eyes tell the story of her as the evil character. Do wear a favorite business outfit, appropriate to your market place, that is comfortable, and you love. Do use a makeup artist for the shoot. This also applies to men. Do hire a professional portrait photographer. Interview

luxury real estate website design: Saturday Smiles: A Green Day!
- 05/03/14 12:20 AM
It is another beautiful Saturday morning here in Santa Barbara. The color green, the symbol of spring is prevalent at the Farmers Market in town. Snap peas are a favorite of ours. Then, there are snow pea leaves. We discoved these in an LA Chinatown and have gone out of our way to purchase them. They are very tasty when sauteed with garlic and olive oil, These are the leaves of the snow pea plants. Yank Sing, our favorite dim sum place in San Francisco, make a dumpling full of chopped snow peas leaves. They have a very high iron

luxury real estate website design: Mind Share Marketing: How to Get A Bigger Slice of the Pie!
- 05/02/14 02:59 AM
We often hear the same story from agents who want to dominate a niche in their marketplace, but the incumbent market leader intimidates them. Here is their story: “So and so is dominating this area in listings, they have been in the community for years, and they are well connected. They are not tech savvy. And, their integrity and competence is questionable. They take overpriced listings, and spend lavishly on print advertising. How can I compete?” What these incumbents have is Mind Share. And, Mind Share precedes Market Share. They understand the importance of visibility in their marketplace,

luxury real estate website design: Speechless Sunday: A Field of Queen Anne's Lace/Two Perspectives
- 04/26/14 11:52 PM
One of the wonderful aspects of living in Carpinteria is the fact that one of our industries is growing flowers, which are sold in the US and Canada. One of the growing fields we spotted on a recent walk was this one (pictured above) of Queen Anne's Lace. They are a beneficial flower because they attract bees which help the pollination cycle. Up close one of the blooms had a couple of bees working, and a lady bug. By the time I got close enough to take a picture, the lady bug was the only one brave enough to stay. It is

luxury real estate website design: True Confession: How & Why We Fell In Love with a Brand! Part 5
- 04/21/14 12:23 AM
As consumers we love Nespresso. As luxury brand strategists we salute Nespresso for outsmarting the best American Coffee companies and beating them at their own game in the fastest growing segment of the coffee industry: portioned coffee. In 1996, Nespresso patented the process of brewing espresso from capsules containing ground coffee. But, North Americans crave larger cups of coffee more so than espresso. Keurig was instrumental in turning portioned coffee into a $4.9 billion market by licensing their K-Cups to major US and Canadian coffee brands including Starbucks that accounts for over 25% of all K-cup sales. luxury real estate website design: Speechless Sunday: They Are Back!!!
- 04/20/14 02:10 PM
One of our favorite spring manifestations are the blooming jacaranda trees which can be found almost anywhere one looks in Santa Barbara. Sillouhetted against an azure sky, they make a beautiful contrast. They last through June, and they are definitely a welcome sight during gloomy days, when the marine layer takes over. There are several streets lined with jacaranda trees. When we parked at the market today, we noticed many of the trees starting to bloom. What a glorious sight. We wish everyone on Active Rain a great week ahead. Cheers, Ron & Alexandra Written by Ron & Alexandra Seigel-
