- 04/25/16 03:32 AM
Tiny houses are all the rage right now. With the show "Tiny House Movement" and other similar shows, people are flocking to this concept to save money and simply downsize their life. But is a tiny home really mean a smaller household bill. Tading in their larger home for a low maintenance, easier way of life sounds very appealing to many people but there are hidden fees and costs that a lot of people don't consider. Some of the reasons people consider a tiny house is to reduce their environmental impact, allow more time and freedom into their lifestyle and decrease their financial concern. (6 comments)

palm desert real estate: Hire a Professional or DIY Home Inspection Requests?
- 02/29/16 01:58 AM
If you're selling a home chances are you're going to get a home inspection report stating that you need to complete some repairs or replacements. This is pretty normal in most real estate transactions but, do you need to hire a professional or can you conduct some of the repairs on your own? It all depends on the type of repairs requested. Some inspection contingency reports will request all repairs be completed by a professional handyman or contractor that is licensed, bonded and insured. Unless the homeowner is this type of professional, most repairs should be completed by a qualified professional. Other (4 comments)

palm desert real estate: Selling a Home with Mold
- 09/21/15 04:27 AM
Every home has a potential to grow mold and if left unattended it can become a big problem. The word mold is a huge deterrent to buyers even in moist climates where mold is a very common occurrence. Mold can cause serious health problems when someone is exposed to significant amounts over a long period of time. So what is a homeowner to do if they have mold problems and want to sell their home?
Selling a home where a mold problem has been discovered or is already known is not a small task and should be taken very seriously. If mold (5 comments)
palm desert real estate: 5 Things I Wish Homeowners Knew Before They Bought a House
- 07/10/15 02:11 AM
Whether this is your first time buying a home or your 10th time, there are just some things I wish every homebuyer would recognize, know or understand about the home buying process. However, most homeowners don't take enough time to research buying a house before they find the house they love and jump into the real estate contract. Sometimes buying a home is such a knee-jerk reaction that they don't stop, evaluate, and understand all the details to buying. It can be a whirlwind but keeping these things in mind before buying a house will put you ahead of the game.

palm desert real estate: When Should I Lower the Price of My Home?
- 05/25/15 03:27 AM
We all want to get the very most profit for the sale of our property but that's simply not the reality for many home sellers across the country. So how do you know when is a good time to lower the price on your home? It all depends on where you started. Many home sellers that are not in a rush to sell their home will overprice their home in the hopes that they might get the escalated price or lower it when they don't receive the full price. The problem with this tactic is that overpriced homes tend to saturate the market confusing the (1 comments)

palm desert real estate: Homes Listed on Zillow Not Actually for Sale?
- 05/08/15 02:40 AM
I’ve been getting a few calls like this lately, “I found this home on Zillow and really would like to see it”. The problem occurs when I do an actual MLS search for it only to find it's not for sale. What’s going on here? Zillow takes information from a company called RealtyTrac, which specialized in foreclosures. Once a homeowner has missed a mortgage payment and notice is sent from the lender, that notice is public record and RealtyTrac catches this and sends information to Zillow that the home may be in pre-foreclosure even though it may never be listed for sale. palm desert real estate: Pros and Cons of Value Range Marketing
- 03/02/15 05:37 AM
Value Range Pricing is a method of marketing a home where the homeowner chooses to list a price range for the home rather than a fixed price. So, instead of listing the home at $400,000, the seller would list the home at $375,000 - $425,000. The idea is not to get the lowest price although the low end is usually the lowest the seller is willing to take, but to allow a greater range for buyers to find the home. This can also be used for hotter markets where competition is fierce. The reality is when pricing a home you will (5 comments)
