real estate: How long til Geeks rule the world? - 01/04/12 02:53 AM

Do you know Ben Kinney (our head geek)?
Some of us are born “geeky” and some of us need a little help to discover that inner geek. The Geeky Girls have a lot of natural “geekyness” going on, but they have had help from IMSD (Internet Marketing Specialist Designation). Since graduation from the IMSD program we have taken “geeky” to a whole new level. Over the last year our real estate business has grown and we have had the opportunity to travel and teach all over the country – spreading the “geeky” love. We wanted to share pics of … (3 comments)

real estate: I need new business cards - 07/31/10 02:49 PM
It is kind of ironic that my friends at 210 Consulting are doing a contest with the prize of Free Business Cards. I have been playing around with making a new business card for almost 2 weeks now. I sent a copy of what I wanted to use to my best buddy David Patterson told me that I needed to go back to the drawing board and make sure it had my picture somewhere on it. I now have the card 90% complete so free cards would be fabulous.
Ok, so now onto what I am actually supposed to be blogging about. Do I love or … (7 comments)

Are you prepared for your Child to go Back to School this Fall? I know that some of the year round schools have started or will this week, but for the vast majority of the Union County Public Schools, August 25 is still a little bit away and we have time to get things done. real estate: Was it worth the wait Fieldstone Farm? - 07/22/10 07:15 AM

Almost 3 years ago our real estate team started showing clients homes that were being built in the brand new community Fieldstone Farm in Indian Trail, NC. At that time the sales agents were promisin that a Resident's Club with full ammenities would be built during the summer. The buyers were all so excited about the pending clubhouse and all the ammenities that were going to be there too.

Up until the last 3 weeks the above picture was just that sign on a vacant lot. The Resident's Club opened less than a month ago with a full clubhouse … (2 comments)

real estate: Was it worth the wait Fieldstone Farm? - 07/22/10 04:15 AM
I started having clients buy in Fieldstone Farm in Indian Trail, NC over 2 years ago. The first homes were built with huge promises of a wonderful Resident's Club being built that very Summer. Well here it is 2 years later and the ammenities are all in! Was it worth the wait? I would have to answer that question with a resounding YES!
For the last two plus years the only thing that you saw when you drove into Fieldstone Farm was a parking lot and a sign of a coming soon Residents Club, then slowly during that time a soccer … (1 comments)

real estate: The dirty dozen, when should you buy organic Union County? - 06/25/10 08:20 AM
Your Union County, NC real estate team has been growing a large garden the last couple of years. We have done a lot of research on what we can and can't grown in our area well. I came upon this list of fruits and vegatables that are low pesticide foods and those that have been termed the "Dirty Dozen".
The Dirty Dozen are:
1. Peaches2. Apples3. Sweet Bell Peppers4. Celery5. Nectarines6. Strawberries7. Cherries8. Lettuce9. Grapes10. Pears11. Spinach12. Potatoes
As a resident of Union county there are ways to reduce your exposure and that is by buying organic of these 12 fruits and veggies. … (1 comments)

real estate: Hey Charlotte, who doesn't love baseball, even minor league? - 06/09/10 07:33 AM
hey Charlotte, are you taking advantage of what is in our own backyard? If you are lucky enough to live in a town with a professional baseball team, no matter what team that might be, OUR FAMILY is JEALOUS. We have several Minor League teams in our area, but it just ins't the same.
We typically plan our trips in the summer around which ballparks we can pass when the home team will be playing. We have been to Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, and others. We plan on some Philadelphia games this summer.
If you live in or around the Charlotte, NC … (6 comments)

real estate: Lowe's Realtor Benefits - 06/07/10 05:56 PM
Is anyone actively using the FREE Lowe's Realtor Benefits program that they offer us?
About 5 years ago when I was on bedrest and didn't do much social media I had gotten an email from the Lowe's Realtor Benefits Program and signed up all of our past, present and prospects at the time. I of course am probably about a year behind in doing so now but for a while I kept it up.
I don't know that I can say that any real business came from it but I did get several clients to tell me every couple of months … (20 comments)

real estate: Mint Hill mall is still possible - 06/06/10 04:44 PM
There is still an outside chance that the open air Bridges at Mint Hill Mall will be built after all. For the last ten years we have been hearing that this awesome mall was going to be built in Mint Hill, NC. One delay after another has stalled its start. From an endangered snail to the money drying up it has had one delay after another.
Ground could be broken next year once the company that is behind the project emerges from bankruptcy. Sometime later this year General Growth Properties will emerge from bankruptcy and it is still going well for … (0 comments)

real estate: North Carolina is the 5th largest blueberry producing state - 05/25/10 01:51 PM
Most of the blueberries grown in North Carolina are in the southeastern coastal areas such as Bladen, Pender, Sampson and Duplin counties even though the entire state is capable of growing them. The season goes from mid-May in the east through mid July in the mountains.
There have been many news related stories lately about all of the health benefits of blueberries including preventing urinary tract infections, keeping cholesterol at bay and preventing bowel cancer. The berries are chalk full of antioxidant. About half a cup of these have as much antioxidant power as 5 servings of other fruits and veggies … (2 comments)

real estate: Seriously, did your tenant really put a Sold Sign on my listing? - 05/11/10 03:49 PM
I got the strangest phone call from my newest seller yesterday. Here is how it went:
"Hey Lisa, this is Mr. Seller. Did my house sell over the weekend?" I could only respond with, "If it did, I have no idea since I did not negotiate offers from the beach." He then went on to tell me that he had driven by the house, (it is a rental that has a current tenant) and that the magnetic SOLD signs were on the yard sign.
I told him that I would drive out there and take care of it. Upon my arrival, … (12 comments)
