Nashville Home Sales up for Fifth Consecutive Month in February There were 1,308 home closings in Nashville during February, representing a 3.2 percent increase from the 1,267 closings reported during February of 2009.
The number of pending sales in Nashville also continues to rise with 1,614 sales pending at the end of this February compared to 1,452 in February of last year.
The median residential price in February was $159,900 for a single-family home and $149,950 for a condominium. That compares with median prices of $160,000 for residential and $151,120 for condominiums in February of last year.

Grandparents love Westhaven -
I had a discussion today about the demographics of buyers in Westhaven, and the fact that a lot of the buyers are grandparents is something that escaped me.
Then I started thinking about the whole concept of a small town, most homes are in walking distance to the Publix, the Vanderbilt Clinic, the golf course, the fitness center and water park, and I guess for most retired people Westhaven is as good as it gets.
In Westhaven, grandchildren have plenty of activities to keep them busy, and the grandparents have low maintenance, energy efficient homes that … (5 comments)
