nashville real estate: Follow Your Dream - 11/02/09 12:27 AM
Follow your dream
There are people who put their dreams in a little box and say, "Yes, I've got dreams, of course I've got dreams." Then they put the box away and bring it out once in awhile to look in it, and yep, they're still there. These are great dreams, but they never even get out of the box. It takes an uncommon amount of guts to put your dreams on the line, to hold them up and say, "How good or how bad am I?" That's where courage comes in.

nashville real estate: MOLD MAN - 10/29/09 03:38 AM
How do you dress when you crawl under a house?
This is what one person does when he suspects that a home has mold under it. He was right, the home was around 10 years old, and he said that water had been under the home for a long time, maybe from the time it was new. It should have been corrected by the builder in the very beginning, but the customer never bothered to have a home inspection, or look under the house.
He is an inspector for an insurance company, and he does this every day.
 Pretty scary stuff.

nashville real estate: Speechless Sunday - 10/25/09 01:57 AM
A little history of the Natchez Trace, based on information located at wikipedia
A 440-mile-long path extending from Natchez, Mississippi to Nashville, Tennessee,. It was a traditional Native American trail and was later also used by early European explorers as both a trade and transit route in the late 1700s and early 1800s. Today, the trail has been commemorated by the 444-mile-long Natchez Trace Parkway, which follows the approximate path of the trace.[1] The trail itself has a long and rich history, filled with brave explorers, dastardly outlaws and daring settlers. Parts of the original trail are still accessible

nashville real estate: Nashville Boating Opportunities - 10/24/09 01:03 AM
Nashville boating opportunities
This is a repost of a blog by Julie Mcleland.
Have you considered boating in Nashville? Many people are unaware of the growing boating society in Nashville, TN.  Lake Old Hickory is directly linked to downtown Nashville through only one easy lock.
Once on the Cumberland River, it is only a short trip to downtown Nashville. Metro parks have a dock on the river right beside the train depot where the Music City Star brings commuters and tourists. All slips have power and may be reserved for up to 5 days at a time. The dock is gated … (3 comments)

nashville real estate: Deal of the week Spring Hill Real Estate - 10/22/09 02:26 AM
Deal of the week Spring Hill Real Estate - I came across this home while showing property in Golf View estates in Spring Hill. This home was built by Terry Moore in 2007, and he is know for high quality construction.
At 2160 square ft, the home comes to $75 a square ft. Needless to say, it's a great value, and far surpasses any Spring Hill real estate that I have seen lately. With the large master and all 3 bedrooms on the main floor, and a large bonus room above the garage, this floor plan will suite almost anyone.

nashville real estate: Stop Showing Houses, and Generate Leads - 10/19/09 04:12 PM
Today I reminded myself that I have a responsibility to my team
My job is to generate real estate leads, and list homes, in that order. It is not to show houses to potential buyers. I have very successful buyers agents who can show houses, and all are better with buyers than I am.
This was a hard decision, but it was time to let go.
It's time to become a serious rainmaker and stop being a realtor. I'll do my best to stick to this plan. Of course Tricia, Julie, and Kimm have to generate enough revenue to keep me from wanting to show houses.

nashville real estate: Nashville real estate - 3 offers in 2 days - 10/19/09 02:51 AM
Nashville real estate - This home closed last week after being on the market for several months. Now that first time home buyers are running out of time, the best deals are disappearing fast. The day the first offer was accepted, I received two more offers of the same price or better. All were first time home buyers who needed to close before December 1st to receive the first time home buyers tax credit.
For the buyers who missed out, I have another home that's similar, but a little more expensive just down the street. As I was saying earlier, the … (5 comments)

nashville real estate: Nashville Luxury Homes are all about Location - 10/12/09 04:14 AM
Nashville Luxury Homes - I spent a few days with a very nice couple from Napa Valley who are planning to relocate to Nashville. The husband is a Nashville native, and he has convinced his wife that the tax savings of Tennessee compared to California will make the move worthwhile. Since they own their own business, and it's not location dependant, moving across the country is not an issue.
Since the husband is a native, he had some ideas about the Nashville luxury homes they wanted to consider, but the wife had very specific requirements that needed to be met. The search for the perfect Nashville luxury home … (7 comments)

nashville real estate: Green Hills Real Estate - 07/28/09 02:54 PM
Green Hills - Why do people want to move to Green Hills? I get lots of calls about Green Hills real estate, and the answer is easy. Location, Location, Location. Green Hills is less than 5 miles from Vanderbilt, HCA, and most of the downtown businesses. It's a short 10 mile drive to Nashville international Airport. It's primarily a white collar commmunity with half of it's 22,000 residents having at least a bachelors degree, and the average houshold income of $148,000.
