Oakridge Park
Located on the corner of N. 1st Street and Oakridge Ave. and covers 3.5 acres. It includes an illuminated Basketball court, a playground, softball field and picnic shelter.

When I discovered the Corner Cafe, it was located on the corner, in downtown Nappanee. Since then, they have moved a few miles north on State Road 19, in Wakarusa. There is more seating and a larger menu. You can stop in for Breakfast or Dinner as they have a large assortment of menu items.
Breakfast Menu includes: Eggs, Omelets, Pancakes or a combination, including ham, sausage and bacon. One of my favorite is what they use to call a Haystack. They start with Hash Browns, 2 biscuits, smothered in sausage gravy with eggs on top. It's … (6 comments)

Somehow Pizza tastes better when it's a small town, family owned and operated business. Cook's Pizza has been serving Wakarusa since 1971. People come from miles around to eat there and has become a neighborhood hangout. Rumor has it that years ago, the farmers had keys to the place, so they could come in, make coffee and lock the door on the way out.

Derksen Farm Wetland Area & Robert W. Callander Sportsplex
Located on N. Oakland Avenue, the complex covers 35 acres and has 4 illuminated softball fields, a toboggan hill, walking trails, concessions, handicap accessible restrooms and a picnic shelter that can be rented.
South Park
Located at 100 W. Reed Street, the park covers 3 acres with Baseball, open play area, handicap accessible playground and a picnic shelter.

The Pumpkinvine Nature Trail, in Northern Indiana,
25 miles of trails, in the heart of Elkhart County.
The Pumpkinvine Railroad started in 1888 and was so named because of all the twists and turns. The rails were removed in 1980, this allowing the parks and recreation departments of Elkhart County, Goshen, Middlebury and the town of Shipshewana to have the old railroad paved for bicycling and exploring.
The trail is 25 miles with only 2.25 miles on county roads and links Oak Ridge Park, Ox Bow Park, Abshire Park and Krider Garden which all have restroom facilities and parking. The … (2 comments)
