Taste of the Gardens 2014,
Wellfield Botanic Gardens, Elkhart,
Thousands attended.
While Evelyn and I, helped selling food and drink tickets, thousands of visitors enjoyed the restaurants & entertainment located around the gardens, as well as the talented artisans with their paintings, sculptures,jewelry and glass art. I was able to take some pictures before reporting to our appointed booth.
Here are some of the pictures I took at the festival.
Over 20 Restaurants brought their specialty dishes to the people to taste and enjoy,
advertising their local businesses.
The artist enjoyed the attention of the thousands of attendees.

Wellfield Botanic Gardens has become a place of peace and serenity as it has expanded with new areas opening each year. The gardens have been used for parties, Weddings, receptions, Arts and Craft Shows, and even the Taste of Elkhart. The Young Professionals of Elkhart have a performance each year as a fundraiser to help in the revitalization of downtown Elkhart. Last year was a Roaring 20's theme. This year, it was "The Heist", a suspense audience participation comedy thriller.
The gathering started at the Ruthmere Mansion, where champaigne was served and everyone was shown 3 priceless items, under armed guard, that would be involved in the heist.
Everyone was then transported to the Lerner Theatre, in the Crystal Ballroom, where drinks and dinner was served, while having live entertainment.

The 46th annual Middlebury Summer event kicked off at Das Essenhaus Family Restaurant, with a car cruise on Thursday and Arm wrestling, Music by the group DANG! 6:30 to 7:30 pm on Friday, along with a garden tractor pull at 6:30 pm, with the main focus on Saturday.

The Barber Chair.
I was due to exhibit in an Art Show in Rome, Georgia and then in Cave Springs, so I visited the area to see what I could find in the way of Nostalgia. Cave Springs was a quaint little town in which I noticed a barber shop, just off the square. It had the letters painted on the windows, which you could see through to the inside.

There's something always going on!
Airports, as we know it, are for taking off and going somewhere, or landing from somewhere else.
The Elkhart Municipal airport has opportunities for pilot training, as well as commuting back and forth to and from work. They have businesses rent space to sell used cars, as they bring in hundreds of cars from local dealerships. I have seen air shows and world war II , displays of War Birds

While growing up, every year, as a child, we always colored eggs and waited for the Easter Bunny to come during the night to hide the eggs, so we could find them Easter morning, collecting them in our Easter Basket. We celebrate Easter every year, not because of the Easter Bunny, but what is written in the Bible. I haven't read any stories in the Bible about a long-eared, cotton-tailed Bunny Rabbit. We all have visions of Gramma's pies sitting on the window sill to cool, after being taken straight from the oven and having the smell drift around the yard. Gramma has taken up shop in Goshen, Indiana. The County Seat Restaurant has been around for years, with Freeda (Fritz) Huser at the helm. Her son, with Fritz close by, has taken over the restaurant, so Fritz, staying ambitious, opened up a pie shop right next door, supplying the restaurant and community with delicious Pies and homemade breads.

Who is Paul Thomas, You Say? Let me tell you.
Paul Thomas was not here before Elkhart, but he lived here all his life. Mr Thomas ran a small business on North Main Street. Paul Thomas Shoes was in the middle of Elkhart. He served as City Councilman ans many other committee around town. In 1988, after retiring, he turned his 2 story building into the City's Historic Museum, collecting Elkhart Artifacts, photographs and other memorabilia.

Sunday afternoon my wife and I attended "A Christmas Carol" at the Lerner Theater, in downtown, Elkhart, Indiana. It was no great Broadway production. It was our neighbors. Clients of Christmas past, Clients of Christmas Present and Clients of Christmas Future.
People we sold homes to, were in the play. There were people in the play that we are in constant communications with and children of clients, that will be the future buyers and seller of our Real Estate business.
