Under Governor Martin O'Malley's "EmPOWER Maryland" initiative, the State of Maryland will reduce energy consumption by 15 percent by the year 2015. To help achieve this goal, the Maryland Energy Administration encourages residents to adopt the combination of energy savings measures that are most appropriate for their home. In many cases, these measures do not require a large financial investment. To assist current homebuyers with the replacement of many outdated appliances within the homes they purchase the following rebate program has been activated. To qualify all abuyer needs to do is purchase super efficient ENERGY STAR raeted appliances.
