As the special inspector general for the federal financial bailout program faults a lack of planning and "constant changes" for the failure of the Obama Administration's home loan assistance program, the President is set to announce a new initiative to help homeowners by potentially refinancing a million of them with government back loans!The New York Times article also states that the plan will require banks to reduce mortgage payments for a minimum of three months for unemployed borrowers.While I'm not an economist shouldn't the government be more concerned with stimulating the economy to create jobs, than rushing through another program that's … (14 comments)

Where Does It End? (My Rant!)
First we bailout financial institutions, the auto makers see a good thing and want to jump on the gravy train…Now the Governors of New Jersey, New York and Connecticut want the feds to bail out thousands of financial industry workers who are loosing their jobs!

 This is incredible!
The three Governors have asked for $48 million in emergency grants, allowing states to give each laid off worker $12,500 to help them find jobs and relocate. Pardon me, but what are these guys smoking?

New Jersey's new budget (FY 2009) has been approved by the Senate and Assembly, and sent to the Governor for final approval.  The $32.9 measure passed both houses of the Legislature Monday with little fanfare.
No so for the $3.9 billion school construction bonding bill which was hotly debated for more than four hours before gaining approval.
At issue is the amount of the bonding proposal and the refusal of the Governor and Legislature to put the plan before the voters.
The Governor originally called for borrowing only $2.5 billion to complete school construction projects in the state's most distressed school districts.  … (0 comments)
