art: Renaissance Festival in Fresno at the Newman Center - Saturday and Sunday Oct 26 & 27 - 10/25/08 08:04 PM
There is a  Renaissance Festival today and tomorrow at the St. Paul Newman Center in Fresno.  Its a fairly LARGE event and its FREE!  The Newman Center is located at 1572 E Barstow.  Its on the north side of the street between Millbrook and Cedar - YOU CAN'T MISS IT.
There is something for everyone and you wont be disappointed.  There are live performers from the Guild of St. Augustine.  The musicians I heard were EXCELLENT.  There was a guy there playing an unusual stringed instrument that I have never seen before and he was fabulous.  There were the jousters but … (0 comments)

art: The Perfect Yard For Your Staycation - (Landscape photographs included) - 05/20/08 05:49 PM
With the rising price of gas I believe many Americans will be spending more time at home.  You might as well enjoy your yard!
It just so happens my oldest son is a landscape artisan. Last night I went to a home in the Tower District to take some pictures of his latest workmanship. The homeowners did have a landscape designer who is responsible for the design. My son executed it, which is to say he built the walls you see, laid the flagstone and cement, installed the lights, put in the plants, etc. Here are a few of the pics. … (11 comments)

art: What Do You Think Of These Two ? - 02/20/08 06:45 PM
Since everything was quite today and we had a beautiful blue sky filled with fair weather cumulus clouds, I decided to go to Woodward Park and take some pictures.

Woodward Park is beautiful as you can see from this picture.  When you enter the park by its south gateway you immediately encounter this lake.  I walked around and took at LOT of pictures.  Here are two of my favorites:

This was taken at the the north end of the lake pictured above.

art: Mardi Gras in Fresno? - 02/03/08 03:52 PM
Yes, and on Superbowl Sunday. There shouldn't be a Mardi Gras anywhere on the planet on Superbowl Sunday! But FRESNO? I don't think the word Fresno and Mardi Gras should be in the same sentence. Add to that it was sprinkling and COLD - at least when it started - weather improved slightly.
It was held in the Tower District which is Fresno's equivalent of the French Quarter.
It WAS COLORFUL, I'll grant you that.

art: Get A Life... - 12/06/07 03:11 AM
I have always been fascinated with puppets and became a puppeteer about 35 years ago.  I performed at churches, birthday parties, college campus, parks, and even once one TV for a channel in San Francisco.  Once the kids started coming (my wife and I have 6 children) I had to take a REAL job, whatever that means.  In my case it meant doing something I really didnt like in order to pay the bills:(
About 5 years ago I looked back on my life and asked myself: WHAT DO I REALLY LIKE DOING?
One of the first things that came to mind was … (3 comments)
