The gated community of Bent Tree, Georgia is located 5 miles east of Jasper off of IH 575/515.  The community offers 18 holes of golf, 4 outdoor tennis courts, two indoor courts, a horse riding stable and a 100+/- acre lake for boating. They also have 2 outdoor swimming pools and a dog park and hiking trails.
The homes in the community range from getaway cabins to luxurious homes high a top its many mountain tops.  You can see Atlanta, Stone and Kennesaw mountains from some of these mountain top homes! (on a clear day!)

vacation homes: Finally it is Gorgeous here! - 05/18/09 04:19 AM
The rains and gloom have finally ended; didn't think that I would ever say that again after 2-3 years of drought! But it is magnificent today! This is one of the many reasons that I love living up here in the North Georgia Mountains! I really like the west side on the state, which is where Jasper, Ellijay and Big Canoe are located.  The traffic getting here is a small per percentage of what is seen over on the east side of the state, for one reason and that is a big one for me! Going up I-85 or I-985  is so nerve … (3 comments)

vacation homes: Traffic Jams - 06/12/08 03:26 AM
I just returned to the North Georgia Mountains from south of Atlanta and what a relief! First of all it is 10 degrees cooler here, some due to the ambient temperature (higher elevation, lower temp) and some from the incredible fauna coverage! Thick masses of trees displaying every imaginable shade of green never looked so good!  And the traffic!!! Our only problem is getting behind someone poking along when I am in a rush!  I'm not too sure if that really is a problem, though!  I did have to stop for these guys the other day, the blur in the rear … (0 comments)

vacation homes: How do I spend my money?? - 05/30/08 05:44 AM
I have some great listings here in Big Canoe, gorgeous golf course homes with all the bells and whistles, but: How Do I Get the Word Out? I have tried e-flyers, emailings, print ads, caravan exposure, begging, pleading!!! And virtually no showings! The homes are priced right, or I'ld like to think! In great condition with updates and candy...but still no showings.  Needless to say, my Seller is exasperated and I am sure he will eventually hop to another agent...and as we say, 1st child, 2nd wife and 3rd agent!  It probably will sell! I realize that it's the market... but other … (3 comments)

vacation homes: It Snowed - 01/17/08 12:13 AM
I was looking at log cabins yesterday, previewing for a customer, and it started to snow. Not a big deal for a lot of the country but here in the mountains of north Georgia a real event...The grocery stores have been jammed in anticipation of this  for a couple days; meetings canceled long before the first flake; flights delayed, the list goes on, but it sure was beautiful! Again it reminds me of why I moved here and what a brilliant move it was! Standing in my front yard I could hear the flakes fall through the trees, I have never … (0 comments)
