Yes, the weather is cooling and the leaves are just starting to change a little in the Murphy NC mountains - it must be that time again. This weekend is the famous annual John C. Campbell Folk School FALL FESTIVAL! Festival goers will meander along the tree-lined paths, greeting over 240 local and regional artisans showcasing their work for sale. Browsers will enjoy a wide selection of fine crafts including wood, fiber, jewelry, naturals, glass, clay, photography, metal, book arts, painting, garden arts, and more! This is the best Festival in the mountains so don't miss this one! Its definitely our family favorite here … (2 comments)

Okay Murphy, it’s time to get ready for the 41st Fall Festival! One of the largest and most popular events of its type in the region. The John C. Campbell Folk School Fall Festival is a celebration of our rich and diverse Appalachian heritage.
This year's Fall Festival, set for Saturday October 4th and Sunday, October 5th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., will draw 12,000 to 14,000 regional attendees. Admission is $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for ages 12-17, and free for children under 12. Fall Events - 5th Annual Harvest Carnival at Konehete Park in downtown Murphy, NC. This family event puts a spin on Halloween with a fun, free alternative to trick-or-treating. This FREE Carnival starts this Saturday, October 30, 2010 from 5-8 pm at Konehete Park. Games and booths are geared to children 4-12, but everyone is welcome. Get there early because Colby and Tiffany Jenkins, Children's Ministers, tell us that the first 250 children will receive a free toy!
