WhiteFence I believe it was the CEO that was interviewed and he likened this service to the travel industry breakthrough years ago. What a fantastic place to spend a few hours one Saturday! The Finley family did just that last weekend. Vollmer Farm is located in Bunn, NC which is just a short drive from the Wake Forest area. Originally, the farm was a tobacco farm and then in the 80's Farmer John converted his family's fifth-generation tobacco farm into strawberries, pumpkins and organics! Today there are fields upon fields of conventional strawberries and organic strawberries from April to July! How lucky are we? A very welcome addition has opened it's doors in historic downtown Wake Forest and it has been welcomed with open arms! What a great idea for a late afternoon with mom......the Six Sundays In Spring concert on May 11. The Wake Forest Cultural Association sponsors these fabulous free concerts on the lawn of the Wake Forest College Birthplace in the heart of the Wake Forest Historic District. The concerts start at 5pm and end at 7pm. You are to pack picnic baskets, frisbees, blankets, chairs, and bring the dogs and children! My family and I decided yesterday that it was time to get out and take a walk. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and we couldn't think of a better place to go......Blue Jay Point Park! Typically, we take advantage of the huge playground that is there but this time decided to explore some of the exhibits they have as well as some trails that we had never hiked before......AMAZING! The Blue Jay Point Center is loaded with educational information about the Falls Lake Watershed, Recycling, the forest, insects, etc....Learned quite a bit about the region that I hadn't know before! I am amazed at all of the shows that encourage enormous home improvement projects that promise a huge return when you sell your home. Don't get me wrong there are some projects that are necessary like maybe this extremely outdated wallpaper in this picture......While I understand that each person has different tastes you need to remember that when you are preparing your home for sale it must be as neutral as possible. Whew - this has certainly been back and forth! First we had The Drought - An Impact Greater Than You Know..... - yep, the pool was almost closed for summer. Then we had Holding Park Pool vs. The Drought - Wake Forest Pool Closed For Summer - The pool was definitely closed for summer and now we have.............. Rain Allows Holding Pool to Open!!!!!!!!! Since January 1, 2008 we have had 47.07 inches of rain here in the Raleigh area! It has been WONDERFUL!
