google: Everything You Always Wanted To Know About SERP But Didn't Know How!
- 04/25/15 11:30 PM
PUSH vs. PULL??? This post inspired by: Do You Know The Difference Between Push And Pull Marketing? By Sarah Cole That is a comparison as old as the practice of advertising goods or services began. Examples of PUSH advertising would be: Door knocking, Cold calling, Handing out cards in the grocery store.
Example of PULL advertising would be:
GOOGLE!!
Yes, consider Google the highest and best of PULL advertising. You don't have to have a knock on your front door and be faced with accepting or rejecting the product or service of the person at your door. You SEARCH, REVIEW and CLICK your choice of the production of your Google SEARCH.
It's true. I tried again. I failed again. I would dearly love to get my local posts in the Google + database.
I mean, Good Grief! it's GOOGLE! I've worshiped at the Google alter since it came on the scene, many years ago. Then came other networks, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Granted, I'm no Internet guru, but I'm no Luddite.
I'm O.K. with Facebook. It gives me what I want for my local county postings.
I'm fine with Twitter. It's another source to get (38 comments)

Although the numbers are small, miniscule in comparison to those of the previous decade, home loans for buyers with minor credit issues are slowly returning to the market. google: BLOGGING NOT WORKING FOR YOU?? IT JUST MAY BE AND YOU DON'T KNOW IT.
- 04/17/13 01:19 AM
BLOGGING NOT WORKING FOR YOU??? If you're expecting consumers to telephone you directly and often, you may be disappointed. Although that is surely possible and it warms my heart to hear, "I saw you on the Internet and you were talking about _______________",most of the contacts I get from the Internet are from web pages. Not a problem. That was my plan. However, to benefit fully from your ActiveRain blog, you need to look at the entire picture and that includes your ActiveRain blog, your pages on Twitter, Facebooks, LinkedIn, Google +, etc. A few tips can help. google: WHAT IS "SERP"? It's the Secret to Advertising Our Real Estate Services on the NET!!
- 11/30/12 08:33 PM
SERP. Search Engine Results Position. What does that mean? It means that, when a person searches for information on Google, they use certain search phrases. Does the content of your blog post or web site MATCH the phrases that consumers use to SEARCH GOOGLE??? IS IT A MATCH? If your ActiveRain article, especially the TITLE, is a match. . . Eureka!! Your post will show up in the consumer's search results on Google. Inspired by a great article by Brenda Mullen, Do I "Sound" Funny When I Write-Key Words in Blogging, The "Treasure" isn't what you write. The real (38 comments)
I often have a conversation with Google and I usually open the conversation with, "Hey Google, have you seen. . . .?? Or, "Hey Google, did you know . . . . ??? Of course, anyone in the room at Google's house can join our conversation, anytime. Google and I chat often and others are always welcome to jump in. google: Stop Duplicate Titles!
- 07/23/11 06:50 AM
PAY ATTENTION FOLKS - DON'T SABOTAGE YOUR OWN ACTIVERAIN BLOG POST! Titles ARE important and ActiveRain is sending you a FREE tip to maximize your blog content. I have questions as to whether this practice constitutes real "duplicate content" within the meaning of Google's definition. That said, constantly repeated content surely doesn't help rank. I suspect that those often duplicated signature blocks are not helpful either. google: SURPRISE! . . . REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY PROS CAN WALK AND CHEW GUM AT THE SAME TIME!
- 07/21/11 12:32 AM
YES, WE CAN WALK AND CHEW GUM AT THE SAME TIME. ACTIVERAIN OR GOOGLE+??? Why do we have to choose??? Inspired by a post this a.m. by Maureen McCabe, a true veteran of Internet marketing, RealTalk, RealTown, ActiveRain and all the "social networks", I simply do not see the comparison. Let the industry social network sites fight it out among themselves. That which delivers the more user friendly and consumer penetrating platform will be the winner. BTW, Neither Google+, Facebook or Twitter are platforms for REAL ESTATE PROFESSIONALS. Facebook Business IS and that's one place to be. Still, it's just one (31 comments)
"HOW'S THAT WORKING OUT FOR YOU?" Inspired by a not so low-keyed rant by our own Gene Mundt, a thoughtful, skilled and well written loan officer, I'm Flaming Red! Have you seen the new Google service being launched in regards to seeking a mortgage? I can only one say: "Don't complain. So, the consumer will now have another resource to use when making their own bad decisions about home financing." "BUT LENN, DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE THAT THE CONSUMER IS QUALIFIED TO MAKE THEIR OWN MORTGAGE LOAN DECISIONS????" NO ! ! ! ! I DO NOT. . . . . I DO (35 comments)

EUREKA! I just had an eureka moment. There was some good conversation on my post of yesterday KEY WORDS IN DOMAIN NAME URLs. MATT CUTTS EXPLAINS - MORE. . . . . and COMPARED TO WHAT??? One thing that wasn't helpful in the Matt Cutts video where he advises BRANDING your URL. My question to that advice has always been HOW AND AT WHAT COST???? The average real estate agent, real estate broker, loan officer, home inspector, etc. doesn't have the venture capital or public offering or investment capital to BRAND a new domain name (URL). google: "I'm glad I always nodded when talking to the President."
- 06/13/10 07:15 AM
"I'm glad I always nodded when talking to the President." That statement is a famous (to me) quote of former Senator Robert Dole, a man with an unparalleled sense of humor. When he was informed that Nixon had voice activated recordings made of all Oval Office conversations, Senator Dole quipped, "I'm glad I always nodded when talking to the President." What a classy guy. Google is not showing much class when they invade our computers like some third rate spy ware. All I can say is. . . . . . "I'm sure glad I'm APP limited." WILL FACEBOOK DETHRONE GOOGLE WHEN MICROSOFT COULDN'T??? HA! Facebook is not the first to try to diminish the power of Google. Google's success is due to their understanding that the consumer would remain loyal users of their search engine if they produced relevant information. Google's secret is the power of search to produce the information sought by the consumer. Microsoft couldn't match it. Yahoo couldn't match it. I doubt that Facebook will either. They serve a different population. Google claims search relevance. Facebook claims huge numbers. The consumer and the advertisers will make their choices. GOOGLE. FRIEND OR FOE? A very thoughtful article by Lisa Hill about Google's ongoing process of making every word ever written available to the world in Google search, inspires this opposing view. BACKGROUND. The library was often my best friend. Growing up in Washington, DC many years ago gave me access to many wonderful institutions. The Public Library in my neighborhood was my "hang out". However, hop on a street car or take a long walk and I could visit the Library of Congress, walk the stacks, read, research, learn and enjoy books on any subject of interest. Appreciating my love of learning and wanting to keep me closer to home, (38 comments)
