CRAWL SPACES ARE PART OF THE PROPERTY - DON'T IGNORE THEM.
Clint describes his visual findings of one crawl space in a home..
What I've often found over the years is that far too many crawl spaces do NOT have adequate access.
Or, as recently occurred with one of my home inspections, the termite inspector was too "large" around the middle to access the crawl space.  It was important because there was evidence of a dormant tube in one corner of the property evidencing past infestation and I insisted that the support structure of the property be inspected for previous damage.  … (8 comments)

termite inspections: Some Unusual Activity - 04/12/11 01:07 AM

WHY AGENTS WITH THEIR LICENSE WITH HOMEFINDERS.COM WERE TRAINED TO ATTEND TERMITE INSPECTIONS.
James Quarello relates a home inspection experience that should be fair warning to real estate agents who are satisfied to let the termite inspector do his routine inspection without the buyer's agent present.
YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT THE TERMITE INSPECTOR (or, home inspector) WILL FIND.
From experience, I know that an agent can better handle a serious termite infestation matter (or home inspection matter) if they are ON THE SCENE when the defect or infestation is discovered by the expert inspector.
