Update: We had 660 attendees and raised over $17,000 for the American Cancer Society. This event rocked!This weekend I have a fund-raising event at my Dunham Castle listing. This event brings together so many things I care about, from support of the American Cancer Society, to historic preservation, to making some good come from the foreclosure crisis we still face in IL. This event perfectly illustrates my personal views about what we really do in real estate: working with people in the communities we serve. The number of homes under contract in St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia, Wayne and Elburn has increased an amazing 53% since August of 2011. The number of homes sold has increased 16% in August of this year compared to August of last year. The total inventory of homes for sale has dropped over 50% to 6.2 months, which means that at the current rate of sales it would take 6.2 months to sell all the existing listings. Wayne, IL is a small community that straddles the DuPage-Kane border. Located just east of St. Charles, the Village of Wayne, IL is a residential community with a population of about 4,000 residents in about 1,100 households. Local residents will sometimes laughingly refer to Wayne as "Waaaaaayyynnnne" in nod to the equestrian heritage and the many property owners who "keep their horses at home".
