Little Miss Josey Beth sitting among the Black-eyed Susans along the lane that leads to our home.....Her mother loves using Black-eyed Susans in her photography projects!
Black-eyed Susans are actually growing everywhere on our property! They can grow to over three feet tall in just about any kind of soil. They spring up quickly in open woods, gardens, fields, and roadsides.
Black-eyed Susans are recognized by their yellow flowers with a brownish-purple center. The flowers are two to three inches across and grow on a stalk up to eight inches long.
Like most successful projects, this photograph was the combined efforts of my talented daughter with a camera, me putting the pumpkin top on at just the right moment (more than one time), and another one of my granddaughters, Bailey, coaxing a smile from Josey!
